I'm having some issues with fuel delivery. So far i have been unable to get the passenger side AMG fuel pump to run off the stock controller. I decided to get the tuning done with the stock fuel pumps. I can only go about 3/4 throttle before my fuel pressure starts falling off. On a positive note though, it's still much faster at 3/4 throttle than the original turbos were at full throttle. If i could just get that pump too work....
If I were in that situation I would try a boost a pump. I've used them on other applications with success. You can make the boostapump come on using either rpm, load, map, aux window switch or even a momentary switch. There's a couple company's out there that make them. I think mine was a kenne bell but there's other better more sophisticated versions out there now.

Sorry to hear that AMG pump is not working at this moment for you.
gardevski has done it. He might know the answer to this issue.
I wonder if its CLS has this issue.
The tuner told me stay with my E class stock pump.
So, i didn't upgrade it to AMG pump.
And yea, the power is unbelievable!!
Its a totally different car.
Even 60-120mph runs like a rocket!!
My only problem is LSD, it has clunk click sounds.
My tech said it will be gone after few weeks.

Nice thread you guys have going on here...was there anywhere in particular you guys bought all your parts (e.g. m157 turbos, amg pump, etc...)?
Maybe unrelated, but I had a LSD (peloquin) put into my VW long time ago and it experienced a similar clunking / clicking noise you're describing at only low speeds. To my understanding, it was a result of high spots on the ring gear from putting the LSD in with a press and hammer. The tech said the noise would go away, but it took more or less many months to completely fade away.

Hello, will check my wiring and make some pictures as it was pita to make it work. Please note as there are 3 or 4 wiring diagrams for the fuel pumps (even with same relay/controller). Also if the pump do not run try to switch two of the wires that powers the motor. Did you install Ground to the chassis? Let me know.
I have retrofited the AMG fuel pumps with success. Used the original Fuel pump controller but rearrange the wires to be able to run the pump. No more fuel pressure drops under any load. Will schedule dyno session in the next 10 days to see the final result. The car is very very fast 0-200km/h under 10 sek.
Gardevski i sure could use your help. I have attatched pictures of the AMG fuel pump and the harness that connects to it. You mentioned an extra ground needing to be added to run the pump and possibly the switching of a couple of wires around. So far i have not been able to get it to power on. The wires are currently in the order as received from the factory. Based on the pics can you guide me through the correct way to do this? This pump has me at its mercy!

Thanks for the help! Where does the chassis ground need to be connected to in the pics I attached in the previous post?

I'll have to search my old phone for the pictures as i have made some when installing it. The wires need to be rearranged but dont remember which one went to ground. The one that need to be on Groud to chassis (i think it was the brown) must not be connected in the pump. So you will have 3 wires (thick one) go in the pump and the one from the top plug directly to the chassis ground in the trunk
I checked and here is how my setup looks like (not sure the wires are same pattern inside the pump but they must be) The brown is cut from the controller and extended to to the trunk (ground to chassis)
Will check for another photos that include the internal wiring setup
Btw if you use the stock pump on the passenger side (the e550 pump) and the AMG regulator on the driver's side it wont work good. The Driver's side is pressure regulator. You have to use the pump paired with it's pressure regulator.

When i disconnect the harness from the fuel pump and test the brown wire, it shows it's already connected to chassis ground on my harness. Should i cut it anyway and run another ground to the chassis?

Not trying to be pushy, just checking in to see if you were able to find pics of
or check the wiring order inside the tank for the 63AMG fuel pump. I'm still
stuck until i figure this out. Thanks.

My AMG fuel pump was defective new out of the box. Replaced it with another and got it working after switching a couple wires around. I spent soooo much time trying to get a dead pump to work My car is finally running as it should. Power delivery is VERY STRONG, wide open throttle acceleration is breathtaking. Now the 550 means buisness! Thanks to Gardevski for starting this thread, Cocobeex for getting me out a pinch, and everyone else who has contributed. Love this car now!

Glad that you got it working!!!!!
Now, you will smile whenever you sit in it.
When you go WOT...you gotta hold the steering wheel real tight.
My buddy almost pee in his pants when he was on the passenger seat during WOT.
