I haven't noticed the noise since the swap. I did apply the M157 fuel pump tables in HPTuners prior to swapping the controller, so that may be half of the solution. The voltage/flow specs are different than the factory 278 pump. Hopefully the retune helps you!
Good idea to service the injectors. In my opinion they are one of the more critical maintenance items in the 278/157 engines. One leaking injector can cause a lean condition for other cylinders.
Siegmann, long time since we have chatted, congrats on your progress as well! I have some questions about HP tuning, seems like you have some experience with their system. Let me know if you would like to chat offline.
PekkaH, the car is looking great and appears to be coming along nicely in the power department as well! Congrats on breaking into the 10's! It's been a while as I got frustrated with my progress and lost interest in the forums here because of that, but I went back to the stock fuel pumps and added a boost activated auxiliary fuel pump from Spool Performance here in the States. Comes on at 5psi and provided enough E85(100%) for my power mods. Ended up running an 11.2 @ 122mph before the car was hit and totaled. I do have the kit available(new stock pump and secondary pump with all wiring, bracket and hoses) if you would like to purchase...should help fix your fuel pump issues. Used for approx 2,000 miles before car was totaled. I sold the car to another member here in a different state so I removed the aux fuel system as he didn't have access to E85 in his area and didn't need the system. I now have an SL550 BiTurbo(RWD) and am working on gathering parts for it to start modding. More than likely a custom boost activated secondary pump, AMG turbos, Big-*** IC pump with key on running and a few other goodies. For sure the SL is already tuned and I feel it has a TCU tune as well, due to it shifting and acting a lot like my TCU tune on the E550 did. 11.9 @ 120 in the Texas Summer Heat!
Let me know what you think about the fuel pump setup. I wanted to offer it to you first as a pioneer of the M278 mod world. If you're not interested, I'll offer it up in For Sale Forum unless someone else shows interest here in this thread.
Thank you for kind words man, some mods have been made to the car in past three years. I think it's near complete for me now..
Sorry to hear that your E550 is totaled. Hope you can get your SL to run like hell. Its doing nicely already
Thank you for your pump offer but I will stay with M157 pump and try to get it run like Mr Siegmann did. Just need to get the time with my tuner..
Hello everyone, I just joined. I have a 2013 cls550 rwd, looking to make great power out of it. I was looking to stage 2/3 tune it but I thought I might as well just upgrade the turbos🤷🏽♂️. I’m reading in forums now to see how other people did it. Approximately how long did the conversion take? Was it worth it? How much power were you able to put out after everything was installed? And hopefully someone can put out a parts lists! Thank you!

Hi!
Please read my built thread and all that you need to know and more really is in this thread.
A long time since last post. After winter car is now back on the road.
New oil is in the engine. 8 liters did come out so no oil consumption on 10 000km interval. Nice !
Also I did the vacuum check valve change. My valve was totally ruined and air did flow both ways. This did help a lot in low range torque and how the car match the gas pedal. I recommend everyone to test their check valve: https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...ve-repair.html
I connect the oil pump solenoid off: Must read thread this!: https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...solenoids.html My cars idle is so much smoother and throttle response is better. Also the engine is not so hot after parking in garage. Before it was hot as f....
New OEM MB plugs too. OEM gap to torqued 23nm. One bank did index properly and second bank didn't. We did try many plugs but still didn't index like optimum in second bank. Still should be good. I trust Cifdig: https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...ndexing-3.html
This week Thursday is finally custom dyno tune day with my tuner. Maybe we can get a little more power and he can adjust some stuff on ECU that I want. I have waited three years this. Lol !!

Im going to upgrade my original Bosch 010 auxiliary cooling pump to CWA100 Pierburg pump that came on AMG models maybe in 2013 and after. It doubles the flow that Bosch pump can do. My intake temps are pretty good now but I hope they can be lower and recovery time to run after run should be faster after this pump install. What do need on install is a jumper harness because this CWA100 is different connection that Bosch is. Also will need new brackets because pumps are very different shape.
So here is a list what you need:
Brackets: A 212 501 4320 Price 53e A 212 501 4420 this one is not available anywhere, even in Germany and the price is outstanding 103e. I did make that by my self.
Jumper harness:
from VMP Performance USA, 13-14 GT500 intercooler pump harness (Pierburg CWA50) SKU:VMP-104900,Price 34,99dollars. and yes ( CWA100 and CWA50 have same connections if anybody figures this) ( THIS DONT FIT AND IS WRONG, SEE LATER THE RIGHT SOLUTION THAT I MADE)
CWA100 Pierburg auxiliary pump from Germany, price 231e.
Hello
I'm searching for the one bracket, what you did by your self. All other things I have ready.
Is there a option that you build two of these brackets (for my friend and me) and I pay you what it costs??? That would solve a lot of my problems. :-)

Hi! And thank you for your kind ask, but I don't have the "half bracket" neither the extra pump what I would need to make that bracket again. So trust your self and do it by your self. It's fair easy to do when you have the pump and second half on that bracket.
That VMP jumper harness is wrong one! I did try that and get false info that fits! Please read my topic again and you see how I did make that wiring harness. The are part numbers, pictures and hyperlink also.

Ok, I will try it. Thanks a lot for your help. The harness I already have. One Guy from a german forum did it for me. If I remember correct, it was from 4 cables to 2 cables. Something like this.
Car did today finally got custom re-tune after BB, 3" Freidrich motors sport catback and CWA100 IC pump, and extra HE IC install. My tuner Motorbit did a really, really good job like always! Before this custom fine tune car did have 648hp and 1016nm. Now the numbers are 707hp and 1178nm.
These M278 motor cars can take beating a lot when serviced good. My car is now driven 173 000km and been tuned 74 000km. Several dyno sessions, a lot 0-60, 1/4 mile, and 60-130 Dragy pulls. Still running strong. Also the gearbox is working really nice.
