Parktronic Yes or No?

Who doesn't have it could care less and is getting along just fine?
Who swears by it and it was a must have.

No more whining. Order finally going in today.

hard to say. my salesperson said its for old people, so i didnt get it, plus, i dont want to bet on it since ill have some very expensive rims, and i dont trust it 100%. i still watch when parking with my own 2 eyes, although i havent parallel parked too much with my CLS. others say its 100% accurate, but again, i wouldnt trust it 100%, and dont want the false sense of security, plus i cant stand the little holes in the bumpers.

im getting along fine without.

I have it...and like it...can't be more specific yet as I have only had the car 2 days now...

It's been great when I back my car into the garage...it's always been a sight thing in the past...now I can back right in with confidence.

I'll let you know more as the car and I get to know each other a little better.

Yes my eyes are definitely drawn to them in a bad way as well.

Ordered it for my CLS - have had it on my E for two years - First two weeks took some getting used to, but I love it now and would never have a benz without it - use it almost every day when parallel parking. Just my opinion tho.

I like it so far but yes I think I will trust my eyes first and sometime I can't see everything and it is good to have it as a back up. Also, it might add a small incentive to the buyer when the time to sell it - just my 2 cents.

Cheers!

All my cars have this option. I don't utilize it all the time but when the space gets tight, its good to know that its just there. It is not something that you have to rely 100% of the time since the CLS parktronic doesn't beep until its way too close. I tend to brake abruptly. The Lexus has graphics in the NAV screen which is easier to read at a glance. I can estimate my back up distance to within 1-2 feet from visible obstructions but if I need to get closer than that, then I rely on the parktronic lights and sound. I think its worth it.

Get the parktronic.......better than "I'll stop reversing when it gets expensive".

I must say that the CLS is hard to judge the rear bumper since slope puts all the trunk out of sight. The front is not much better. If you do a lot of parking, you might want to get it.

i've driven mine for a month now and i find its an invaluable tool in addition to using my eyes. i'm more willing to tackle tough spots with it (so why do i still park about 1/4 mile from anyone else?) and now that i'm used to what it can do and its limitations i find it very reliable.

i actually like the fact that it provides a visual signal for a longer period than an audible one. my BMW 745i has this system but the audible portion starts very early and is annoyingly loud. with the CLS i know that when i hear the sound, i gotta stop.

for my .01 i would recommend it.

I'd certainly recommend it on the basis that you never use a parktronic system on it's own - your own eyes are always the primary navigation system!!

I remember always refusing to put it on my cars (was it some kind of slight on my driving ability??!!), but then got is as standard on a car and frankly would never do without it.

Also, with the sloping lines of the CLS, it probably comes close to being a 'must have' - IMO of course

I've had Parktronic for the past 6 years on two S500's and I wouldn't be without it. It's easy to use and consistently accurate. I trust it enough to back up without turning my head, and just looking in the rearview mirrors. I drove a CLS for a few days and with the limited visibility I would heartily advise the Parktronic investment. You'll need it !

In a crowdy & small place like here.
The agent put PTS as standard in all MB models, we can't live w/o it.

Hey, the new GS even equipped with rear camera & a friendly I/F.
