Problems Lowering 07 550 with STAR DIAG
I have an 07 550 and have been to two dealerships to have my car lowered via the Star Diag. but both of them put it on the computer and said that they can change it but whenever they restart the car the settings go back to default? Anyone with an 07 lower their car yet with STAR if so anyone know of any dealerships in the Bay Area that will do it I've tried Fremont and Modesto?

Maybe you should purchase a lowering module if the SDS machine cant lower your CLS.

Just got the lowering done. Apparantly they moved or repositioned the sensors. PM me and I will explain what they did. It took about 15 minutes. The allignment is what took about 30 minutes.

Finally got mine to stay lowered
I had my CLS 550 lowered by the Indianapolis dealer and had a similar experience. They found the most recent bulletin from Mercedes that ok's the lowest setting without voiding the warranty. I took some before and after measurements and was glad I did. The lower setting didn't stay programmed and the Airmatic system reverted back to the original settings. When I took it back in, they confirmed this with the STAR diagnostic program and could duplicate the over-writing process. The solution was to lower the car, and then recalibrate the ride height sensors. Quite simply, they tricked the system into thinking that the lower ride height was actually the factory setting. The car no longer reverts back to the factory settings because it thinks its already there. The results are not as dramatic as what could be achieved with a Renntech module, but for now it will do. Basically it is 1/2 inch lower at the front and 1 inch lower at the rear.
If I remember correctly, I think 3/4 inch is the height difference between the CLS550 and CLS63 but don't quote me on that. My dealer explained that Mercedes is concerned that a lower setting may allow the tire to hit the inner fender over a big bump.
I had looked at installing the Renntech module before Xmas and had printed out the install manual to study. Curiously enough, I recently noticed that Renntech added a recommended settings page to the manual for both standard and AMG vehicles. Did someone out there blow out their fenders?

Number of the bulletin
I was at my local dealer in charlotte NC, they could not find the bulletin on how to lower or that allows them to lower although I insisted on existed. does anyone know the title or number for the bulletin
