I guess I gonna be the first one to try!!! Should be pretty simple since the battery on MB is in the rear. The only thing I have to figure out is the remote wire to turn the amp on and off.

I installed two 12" Rockford Fosgate p3 subs with a fosgate amplifier, and although it was running well for the most part, sometimes the subs wouldn't work out of nowhere until they eventually just blew out. Got it done at Pacific Stereo (NOT recommended) and now have a sound system that makes no sound. Be careful and if you choose to do it, do it right!

I am thinking of installing one 12" sub woofer. I have an old JL W6 3 ohm dvc subs sitting in my garage that I use to use along with Phoenix Gold and PPI amp. I just need to figure out how to connect remote wire.

I installed amps before so have a pretty good idea how to install them the only problem is remote wire as I mentioned.

.
The remote wire should be pretty simple, there is a fuse panel on the left side of the trunk next to the DVD drive. Just find a fuse that gets power when the ignition is on using a tester.

One of the main reason why I want to install just 1 sub is because of the weight of the woofer and the box. I don't want subs sinking my car in the rear with all that weight.

I actually saw the theas.

How does it sound? Any issues with warning light due to voltage drooping when Bass hits?

There has been absolutely no issues. I have never used a cap in any if my cars. I just make sure the alternator and battery are good before I hook my audio systems up. And ive had countless systems and put them in countless cars. The quality and complexity of the system does matter too. The most complicated system I've run was only a 3 amp system in one of my old cars. Modern high quality amplifiers have strong caps built in. But an external capacitor wouldn't hurt.

You guys think one 12" sub would have decent bass? As I mentioned, I don't want to sag my rears due to sub woofer weight.

I am going to take out the CLS floorboard (covers the spare tire etc..) and custom cut a piece of plywood to fit over the floorboard. Essentially the plywood will fit over the OEM floorboard, but will be wide enought that it is supported by the metal on the sides of the trunk floor (i.e. beside the spare tire hole). I did this with my Maxima, and it worked great for my 2 x Alpine Type Rs, 1000 / 2 amp, and cap. No way that OEM CLS floorboard is going to support 2 x 12s + amp, probably 80+ lbs in total.

This is what I did for the amp mount. Totally hidden and no heat issues.

I installed a 12" Kicker Solobaric box and have all the bass I could ever need.

Can you please elaborate further on your set up. Where you tapped into to get a speaker signal, ground locations, remote location and what RMS rating you ramp is? Spill the beans here and give is a little more infor for us guys who want to do the same. Did you use a line out converter? I am thinking os using an old Audio Control LC6i! Hook us up!!!!!!!!!

I taped directly into the rear sub. No line converter.
The AMP is a single channel Kicker Z750 750x1

I got most of my info from this post

Big thanks to whazzzzuup for taking the time to writeup his original post.

Good Luck!

Thanks,

But I don't understand how to hook up an RCA plug to those wires (without a line output converter)?

Do like I did, run a whole new complete system and bypass everything factory so that you can put everything back when selling.

I have. You should remove the rear factory sub first.

Get a 12w7 or 13 w7 jl audio sub. Use a enclosure with a 32hz tuned port.
