“Look Back” factor

I’m an old guy with a large history of varied car ownership....I do not recall looking back after I walk away from my vehicle as frequently as I do now. Neck brace time? Art on wheels. Love this car. The noun here is design.....but it’s

also a great driver. Takes mountain roads like my old Carrera. Zero issues, right out of the box.

Yes...that 911 was wonderful, until a woman by the name of Minnette ran the light and broadsided me at 50+ mph at the corner of Rexford and Olympic. I was on the way to Label's Table on Pico for my tuna fish sandwich. Minette not only ruined my car that day, she also ruined my lunch. The radio popped out from the impact and landed on the gearshift. I ultimintely sold the Porsche for salvage. That was 1986. Oh well, so much for the car I used to clean with a toothbrush! Hoping for better karma with the new CLS. On a serious note.....the CLS is the most satisfying vehicle I've owned during this very long charmed life.

You had a 911 prior to this car and you prefer the CLS? That’s good to know. I am on the fence between those two.

No....The 911 was many years ago,. Have since owned a Cayenne with a six speed manual (rare). But lots of other wheels....including S550, recently. CLS is a specialty car. A nod to 911, for sure...but more practical....and reliable. Swoon time, especially at night.

Gotcha. You’ve had a nice array of cars there. The CLS is your favorite?

Putting the design aspect aside, the new inline (rather than V6) six is a gem. Like silk. Paired with the electric engine, the power is super torque rich, linear, and there is zero turbo lag. God knows MB knows how to manufacture an in-line 6. Glad that it’s finally back, after a long haitus. The two engines combined, give out more than 500 lbs of torque. Ready up!
