My GTS went into build status 12/2, How long...
I got word from my SA on 11/25 that my GTS had a build start date of 12/2. He said to expect the car early/mid January. I am in Colorado for reference. He said that the GTS is built in 3 days. Is that true? Can other share their build to dealer delivery time frames? It would help me and probably others with expectations. I loaded up this GTS with Carbon, Magno Iridium,Dinamica,AMG CCB etc. It's the first car i've ordered to spec. I can not wait to see how it turned out!

3 days to build is correct however it takes weeks to gather all the parts together that make up custom orders thats what I understand.My Car was built 11/23 I am tracking it daily across the ocean it's on the the vehicle cargo vessel "Figaro" it's scheduled to land in Baltimore on the 17th and then I suppose they truck or train it to Chicago where I live. My dealer thinks it'll land on the 23rd but that depends on how fast it goes through customs in Baltimore . Like you this is my first special order custom built car can't wait to see it placed my order back in June!

Mine was built in the first "decade" of November. It was ordered in August. It is now on a ship headed for Los Angeles - after stops at ports along the way. It is scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles on January 2. It has to go through various checks in Los Angeles and they have to put some parts on to make it a US car I believe. As my SL550's lease is up on the 12th it is a bit close. The salesman says that my car is a "priority 1" car and that it gets first work through the docks - but I will believe it when I see it. This is not the first time I have had a Mercedes built. My current SL550 was also built to order.

Congrats! I reconfigured an allocation the dealer had assigned in late May. I talked to my SA he sent me the VIN and said my GTS is built waiting for ship assignment

Yeah, mine was waiting a couple of weeks ago but then got assigned to "Aquamarine Ace" which has since docked in Halifax, Canada and will then make its way around the US and through the Panama Canal I assume on its way to dropping vehicles off along the way.

That 11 day wait sounds the same as mine when I was waiting for my custom built SL550. I hope it doesn't take so long this time. At least my dealership is located close by. It's just 40 miles from Long Beach.
