Are many people dissatisfied with their AMG GTS?
It also seems like a disproportionate number have been bought back by Mercedes. I may have a distorted view since it seems they have sent most of them to the West Palm Highline Auction where I have seen five sold. I wouldn't be surprised if Mercedes will fairly easily buy one back from a dissatisfied loyal MB customer.
I picked up one of the buybacks to drive and resell. I tell the callers to make sure they have driven one and that they should be aware the DCT does not operate like a normal automatic. I just had one guy pass and thank me for making him aware of the DCT.
The way I see it...
#1.) The current GTS has a super hard suspension, even in comfort mode
#2.) It is pretty loud even in quite mode
#3.) It has had quite a few teething issues
#4.) It is still relatively new and rare
#5.) It isn't a luxury car. It makes too many compromises to be one. (Smell, view, comfort, rattles, creakes, sound.
I think the above points have resulted in multiple reasons for the car to see a lot of turnover. I think the happy owners are the ones who wanted an uncompromising sports car from their favorite AMG tuners. Everyone who thinks this is a hardtop SL is probably dissappointed.
If you don't want a full sports car, consider the C63s Coupe. That thing is surely a riot, and is as close to a GTs with backseats as you'll see for a while.
My car is like a vault. Yeah it's a little stiff, but it runs hard and cracks thru gears in sport plus which is very satisfying......

It would be fantastic if people should just stop all their wondering about the car and rather enjoy it for the treat it is. It is a fabulous piece of automotive engineering.
My GT is everything I wished for and then some.
Just like any new products (and it is a big one for AMG), the early adopters paid the price of admission with first year production issues.
If you are in the market for mid 100s GT sports car, the AMG should be on your radar with the 911GT3 or GTS, Aston V8 vantage or Jag F-SVR, . You can't go wrong with any of them and it's just a matter of what rocks your boat.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

My car has seen service once- for an alignment which I asked for due to lowering it. Its been tuned since under 200 miles and I rip the f'in car. I'm 100% happy with my car and after 10 AMG's can say its the best one Ive had yet. With that being said I have no doubt there have been issues with the car on its first run and there will continue to issues as engineering is a very touchy thing.
only complaint would be the windshield and how prone it is to rock chips. i'm on windshield #3 now.
When I first purchased it, it had that loud popping noise which the dealer took care of on their first try. Since then, it hasn't been to the dealer except for the "A" service.
I'm coming up on 7k miles

Asked about facelift and was told 2018, 6-weeks later ta-daa!!!!!
Will be my last AMG.
the new grille does distinguish it more from the common mercedes badge, they should start putting the affalterbach logo instead of the star and see what happens!
