the Canadian market
- There does seem to be a lot of low-mileage 2016s available on the used market. And they don't move. I assume these are trade-ins from people who thought the car was more GT focused?
- Every dealer I've spoken to is trying very hard to get me to buy their in-stock car rather than order. Their behaviour is not consistent with dealers who have a limited commodity available.
- I'm considering Solarbeam. I realize this will hurt values. But is this a lot or a little.
- Residuals on the car seem to be about 59-60% after 3 years in the US. Are we expecting the same curve here in Canada?
Relative to some of the other options I'm considering (used R8s, and a variety of 911s), the GTS seems to be the biggest risk in terms of depreciation.
I wish I was in a position to put little thought into depreciation...but I've found that I enjoy cars more if I feel like I'm not over-paying for my use of them. So the depreciation thing actually matters to me.

The German market has 228 AMG GT/GTS for sale, of which only 9 are Solarbeam, these are numbers for the entire country. Doesn't seem to be that difficult to sell if you look at it like "the Premium color that costs as much as Hell Green Magno".
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

If anything the GT/S market is far softer... pre-reg easily >10% discount.

In comparison, Europe-wide and again 2 years-old and newer, there is no AMG GT (not even talking about GTS) for less than 95.000€

Maybe the used GT market is strengthening...... with buyers that don't like the Panamericana
I've never considered new AMGs before because of their horrid reputation for depreciation. I thought the GTS might be an exception, but the signals here are worrying.
I'm one of those people. I would prefer the old grill. It's classier and the pinched beak look of the area just under the panamericana part of the grill is not attractive, especially in lighter colors.
I think in other vehicles I've looked at (Gen1 R8 for instance), the best deal ever on the car was the just-before-refresh dump of existing stock.
What color top and interior on roadster?
I'm sure there are some who would like to know where dealer is.
