Getting a GTR Black Series...

I think it's going to have and sound like a muted lion roar. Here is a video of a start up I did on the F8 Tributo I test drove last December. I'm thinking there will be a similarity here. If all else is good on the car which I'm hoping it will be. Some sort of an exhaust mod might be all that's needed.

I am hoping you are considering getting a GT Black.
I hope you are right about the US pricing. That will put it close to cars they are competing with in the market.....Porsche GT2 RS and GT3 RS and some Lambos.
I want to drive it not just store it and hope it will appreciate in the future or just sit around to be looked at.

Hasn't the official US pricing already been released on the Black Series...it starts at $389k or $392k from what I understand? Or are these guesses based on Euro pricing. I hope the performance is underrated quite a bit from the factory and it does far better than it's published numbers...time will tell shortly hopefully.

I understand from a very good source in Atlanta (4 days ago) that the final USA price has yet to be finalized.. My GM and zone rep have no info on the price and the rep has a few BS heading into his area...

Some heads up on delays here in Europe after my order.
my salesman informed me today that the production for my black serie is planned for august/september 2021 (instead of october 2020 as originally planned.)
i kept my order but asked for the reasons of such delays. I'll keep you posted.

That sort of delay would imply a fundamental flaw in the car imo.

So does a 10/20 production start imply cars for the 'ONE' guys and VIP's or for those who don't meet that criteria..? If they only build a couple a day, the 'ONE' guys will take up a couple on months of production, then you have the Holidays kicking in... I know of one VIP car coming into my area and some how he got one of the first TDF's, GT2RS and always seems to get the first new Corvette'.. So how many world wide VIP's are out there ? Then you get to those of us who are fortunate enough to be in line for one.... I would think mid-summer production would be more realistic....

I was told i would have the car produced in October originally.
The news came this morning - the car (mine at least) will be delayed until August/September next year.
When I asked why the delivery was delayed, my salesman indicated that this is due to the pace of production of the car. As I'm not a VIP or P1 customer, i might just be at the end of the list.
Consider that i formally ordered the car and got the contract signed, so this timing information came straight from Mercedes. It is not an estimation given by random salesmen.

In the UK everyone leases because they give such a high GFV to make the sales and the depreciation is so wild that people want a fixed cost.
Btw the GT is their worst selling car ever, I think 4 total in UK. It does come with an optional sous vide so I guess it might be interesting if you like cooking.

My take: It would appear that MB has severe capacity constraints and has calculated what they believe is the upper pricing threshold that would still enable them to sell every car they’re able to make. I don’t think anyone is really cross shopping this car with other brands so pricing won’t be based on the market per se. I suspect the buyers are either wealthy hardcore AMG fans upgrading from their GTR’s or big multi brand collectors, neither of which should be phased by the car being priced $75k more than, say a GT2 RS or Pista. The BS is a niche car that will be produced in far fewer numbers than either of those.
