Getting a GTR Black Series...
"Mercedes has announced the pricing details of the new AMG GT Black Series for the UK market and as expected, it’s pretty eye-watering expensive. Like £335,000 (equal to $438,000 at today’s exchange rates) kind of expensive." https://www.carscoops.com/2020/08/20...eap-in-the-uk/
If FI I might just go for the 992 TTS that blows the doors off of the 720s, which at at around $220k well specced all of a sudden looks like the best deal ever.

I live in a very liberal, self righteous area where these morons feel obligated to police everyone else regarding the environment or political affiliations.

When GTR came out and saw first images i said WOW that looks nice. When they showed PRO i said this looks mental. When BS officially came out i did not feel this WOW... Rather mixed feelings and more like bad tuning... And finally the price

The sound was, well not that impressive I'm afraid to say, due to all the sound regs and new filters fitted.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Probably the most beautiful city in the World, IMO.

For the price I'll look at adding something else to the garage and just build the Pro out over the winter time for the track next year!
Can't wait to see everyone elses though.

I am sorry you have decided not to purchase a Black. I am sure others here including me, will be making the same decision if the official MB US prices are as high as predicted.
In my assessment $400-$500k pricing makes the car an instant “garage queen” not suitable for occasional daily driving. As you said there are many other cars at much lower price points that can perform as well as the Black.
The new ZR1 Corvette (flat plane crank) is a great option and at this point you can buy nearly 3 of them for the same money.
Best regards
Jerry

Nicely done!
optioned 4S. I’ve also heard and read that the new Turbos actually are closer to the GT3 lineup in feel and drive. That’s always been my issue with the P cars, they are very talented but completely devoid of soul. Should be interesting once they start landing here. Good luck with the new car Soulsea!

Honestly I really liked my 991.1 TTS, at least once I lowered it and put an AWE exhaust on it.
It was great on the street and also great on track. In fact I found it quicker on most tracks than the 991.1 GT3, which granted was somewhat underpowered for its time.

A Swiss army knife, low key stupid fast car that doesn't scream 'look at me' that's equally capable as a dd as it is on track (although I probably won't track this one).
Man I miss those launches ... I remember any time I was in a bad mood I'd take it out, do about ten of them, and sit back with a smile on my face as if I was high. So I'm looking forward to that again.

I was looking at maybe getting a used 720S Performance but this will do the trick much better. TTS is faster where it counts and I don't have to legally marry the service manager at the dealership.
