Dealer fixes creaking and popping

They said it was the strut brace assembly. There is a revised one with some type of adhesive? Apparently it’s ordered and will be installed Saturday. Just an FYI for other GT owners

Get a picture of that if you can.

Is that the strut bar right behind the seats? Can you keep us updated if it fixes the issue? I also have creaking noise when I turn or with elevation changes

Pretty sure brace is for front struts.

No, it’s the front strut bars inside the engine bay. There are 2 one on each side. Apparently the shifting of the original unrevised strut bars cause the popping and creaking

Both strut bars replaced but popping and creaking noises still exist.
Next step is a mic and headphone to listen in on where the noise is projecting from. So will be diagnosed by today hopefully. Surprisingly this passed the CPO inspection. Sucks to buy a car and to directly put it in the dealership for a repair.....

When you drive the car do you hear the popping and creaking from around the B pillars or from the front. Clearly the source isn't the front strut braces. My GTR creaks going over uneven surfaces and slow turns mostly from behind the driver and passenger seats. The B pillars or where the rear strut bar is fixed. Keep us updated if you can find the source and solution to the issue

the creaks and cracking come from under driver seat area underneath the car. The popping sounds comes from uneven elevation and also slow left turns. But noise is not present 100% of the time. The tech agrees it’s not normal and is not satisfied with just replacing the strut bars. I just got an update as they were not able to locate the noise issues. Closed Monday so I won’t hear anything untill Tuesday.

Update: I have new strut braces installed. Noises are 85% gone. My awesome service tech diagnosed the remaining noise from one of the hood hinges. That’s being replaced next.

I will say that it’s very hard to diagnose the source of noises in this chassis. When in the driver’s seat, the noise sounds like it’s coming from the rear, when in fact it’s coming from the front (and you can tell if sitting in the passenger seat). So keep that in mind!
