Exhaust valve fully open
Anyone found a way of leaving it 100% open all the time yet? without the plug n play modules by Renntech etc.
is it a vacuum controlling it? If so, I guess disconnecting the pipes and blocking off could work (like the Maserati Granturismo) or if they’re electrically controlled, does a fuse removal work (like the Aston & fuse 33)
short of that then I guess it’s the $400 module.

It’s an electric valve as far as I know.
If it was vacuum controlled you can usually just cap them off with rubber plugs. I have done this before on R8, Huracan and 488 without check engine lights.
Not sure what code if any will pop up if you just unplug the valve. I’m sure something will happen or everyone would be unplugging them lol.

The exhaust valves are electrical and use a communications protocol to open/close them, but I don't know what protocol they use. I tried to find the Kuester specification for the valve, but didn't find anything.

Bentley Continental GT; AMG GT
On my Bentley Continental GT it was vacuum. Like most cars with these exhaust systems, they are computer controlled as they only open under certain conditions even if left alone. Conditions such as ECT, RPM, Comfort vs sport trans settings, etc. The vac tubes from the back of the car at the final exhaust mufflers connect to a controller that is typically fed by either a separate vacuum pump or engine vacuum. In case of my Bentley Engine vac. The Vac pots at the back that control a muffler baffle are always on. then vac is removed causing the valve to open. On my Bentley, I simply removed the vac tubes at the rear bumper (one each side) and capped them. The car had open exhaust 100% of the time. The controller was none the wiser and never complained.
I haven't owned my GT long enough (two days) to get down there, but eventually I will.

Those might be worth a look. I’ll verify if the valve controller/plug looks the same once I remove stock exhaust.

If you look at the exhaust valve actuators in the pics from this eBay listing, it appears there shouldn’t be an issue. I’m going to order a couple tonight.

The operation in step #1 is the difficult one "Disconnect current exhaust valve actuator motor while in the open position."

I’m also concerned that if I unplug it while the car is on, I’ll immediately get a soft code that’ll put the car in limp mode and need to be cleared.
Maybe I could pay a buddy to ship me his European module so that I could open the valves 100%, plug these things in, then ship him his module back...
I’ll see what I can come up with.

Thanks for all the replies gents, ive just ordered this though as i want control over it, better than the renntech one imo because its linked to the exhaust button for control rather than a separate fob, nearly half the price to, i’ll report back

Cete = true
RENNtech = not true
That said, Its obnoxiously loud on start up with the valves 100% open (not to be confused with the stock setting open on startup like it comes from the factory). I opted for the Cete - I just wanted the option to decide whether I want to wake up the neighbors or leave the house without the fanfare.

Sorrry maybe I didn't explain it well. Regardless of what EVM you have the car always starts in COMFORT mode. With the Renntech EVM, the car will stay int he setting you have the EVM set to you. So the car will start in comfort mode but the vales will be open so it'll be louder. That being said, you can tell it idles significantly louder when you switch it to RACE mode rather than comfort...even with the EVM.

Factory default on start up is valves open and, to your point, COMFORT mode. After oil is distributed through the motor and the safety warm up is complete, the valves close - RENNtech may do this too but louder due to the 100% open override. With CETE, it eliminates this start up feature, and the car will always start (in COMFORT) with the valves in the closed position.

This is only the case on cold start. After the engine is warmed up they like to start with valves closed.
