So I have found this interesting item from online, and thought it would be fun to share. This company from ali express is selling a grille conversion kit for 2015-17 models. I initially thought the fitment would be utter garbage but this shop called 4Tune installed the kit. I gotta say, it looks pretty decent. Of course it doesn’t look identical to the 18+ models but I think this looks decent especially considering the part itself only costs about $400-500 USD. What are your thoughts?
What do you mean? It seems like a vertical grille looks has a same shape as the oem 15-17 grille. The 18- models have wider bottom while this grille seems to have wider top like the standard 15-17 models. It might seem a bit weird when put next to 18+ models, but surely is a very inexpensive way to install a vertical grille.
I think it looks pretty good, I hope to see one in person at some point, since taking the bumper off and installing is a pain, but something I've thought about doing. I'd probably go all black though without chrome or do black chrome...
do you have a link to the supplier ?There are a few on ali express and some of them look a bit dodgy since they have stolen images that are not theirs (one is actually a shot of someones car who had it done here in Atlanta not using the ali express product)
I think it looks real good. any related problems with camera, etc? who did your install? how long did it take? did they have to do any extra work so it fit?

loll whatever makes you happy. I was looking for this conversion myself and that company actually used the picture of the person i know. The installer posted it on their blog and that company took the picture as a reference. I'm just sharing the information I got to the forum. I got a pre facelift gts myself, and have no relation with that company. It is your choice to believe in what I say but I didn't know anything about that company until the day I posted this thread.
I do like it and if the install was not such a pain I would have considered it seriously. I did this swap on my 2019 E450 and it was a PAIN to DIY - we did it eventually but not without significant effort. I can only imagine it's going to be even harder on the GTS considering it's much lower and we don't have access to a lift.
ALSO, I would recommend that anyone considering this mod also get the protective grills that are available for your lower vents anddo them as well while the bumper is off.
