Over 1700 Black GTs sold world wide, impressive number for less than a year of production.

Does 1700 units seem a little high to anyone else? We keep hearing a reasonable 371 but almost 2000 in one year seems off. Especially since I still don’t have mine!

371 is for the US.

In context 1700ish makes sense as a total including RoW.

So we only get 22% of allocation in the states? Did they make a full year of production in Europe before they brought it over?

Nice job MB Lets see, Schmee, has his painted, has it at Opus for exhaust work, had it shipped across the world to track it, and yet lit doesn't have his car?????

Look at it this way Lit you will have one of the lowest mileage BS in the US! Flip it, buy a ultra-low mileage Manual 2019 ZR1 and get on the list for the Zora

It hardly makes sense. Mine has been stateside since November but still no car.

Kev I’m on the Z06 list at Ciocca (not sure I’ll drive the bs for work). Bright orange, why not🌞. At this rate I may get it before the bs.

371 is the exact number, I have every VIN of the USA vehicles, unless I missed one cough*voodoo blue*cough I did speak with the owner, he does have a Project ONE on the way.

I can confirm ~1700 is correct for global production.

earliest VIN: WMX1903811A041059 (but higher engine number): 17898060031192
earliest VIN: WMX1903811A041065 with lowest engine number: 17898060031176
latest VIN: WMX1903811A044004 with highest engine number: 17898060032850
highest VIN: WMX1903811A044159 (but lower engine number): 17898060032711

engine number delta: 17898060032850 - 17898060031176 = 1674

At the start of BS production, non-BS production engine number was reset.
eg: VIN=WMX1904801A041690 engine number=17898030000207

non-BS GT production count during the same time: 44159-41065 - 1674 = ~1420

You can check the VINs on https://mb.vin/

My car is sitting in Baltimore since early Summer, I used to be upset about the delays, especially when reading posts from guys who already received them.
Now, I just don't care anymore if or when it finally arrives, I just don't get excited at the thought of driving that thing.
I'm not a speculator so I would not put it on the market to get some profit, might just say the hell with it and ask my dealer to just return the $30k I lost on the transaction made solely to obtain the allocation and call it a day....

absent:

I think I speak for all of the BS owners and “owners in waiting” when I say how sorry I am that your and other BS are still stuck either in the port in Germany or one of the MB VPC’S.

I wish I could provide accurate insite into exactly what the holdup is but I don’t have access to the information.

As you know speculation was that it has to do with the carbon fiber spoilers and sub contracted vendor problems. If that is the case, lets all hope that the issues are resolved very soon.

Very best wishes

Jerry

That's a very real option. Considering all of the delays it would be difficult for Mercedes to fault anyone for doing that.

That being said, if I were you I would take it for a spin before I made any decisions.

I dont know if Absent has a nice collection of cool cars but I would have to put~50 miles on it and it would not hurt the sale price at all.

Mine finally arrived!

Hope to get over there later this week to see it before it’s off for full PPF
Asked for a photo of the wing just to make sure it was there!

litumup411:

I am real glad you finally received your BS. The whole process is an exercise in patience for sure.

You are doing the right thing getting the PPF done before you start to enjoy the car. It’s going to take awhile because of all the cuts that need to be made.

PLEASE be sure to get your windshield done as well.

I’m looking forward to your reports on how much you are enjoying the BS.

Best regrds

Jerry

Thank you Jerry! I know from looking at some of the recent cars that have come up for sale/auction that the carbon fiber is very vulnerable to pitting, that's why I'm having the dealer deliver the car to the PPF shop first!

90 still not delivered, and 8 of those have recalls (can't be sold until recall is completed)

I updated some info in original post

I've noticed BAT hates the GT BS and it sells for wholesale, whereas dealers seem to be getting in the 600's for them pre owned.

Did anyone ever manage to get a decent exhaust system on a U.S market car? Still would like to get that done at some point this year.

I haven't had much occasion to drive the car this year but I did get an excuse to make a 600 mile round trip. In one day. The only downside to the car IMO is that it absolutely wants to fly. Would love to have this car in Germany.

As far as I can tell OPUS in Germany seems to be the only vendor interested in making a good quality performance exhaust.

A few of us contacted them to see if a US product would be made available. To date nothing has developed.

I wish I had better news for you.
