GTR 19 inch wheel for track anyone ?

looking at the specs the 305 AR1 is 12.3 section width and 11.8 tread width. those just might work …….
cup 2 in comparison are 13 section and 12.2 tread. Michelin’s tend to run wide.
in case anyone asks why i’d want that tire they are a phenomenal track tire that also works well on street. noisy on road but blow away cup 2. liked them a lot better than GY Supercar 3R as well. heat up in half a lap. stiff sidewall. don’t drop off. o could get 4 days on a set in my C7Z running 1:36 at Laguna. Buddies GT3 RS just got five on his. I could still run within 2 seconds on day four. oh and they are cheap too.
thanks.
new wheels !! BC Forged. about $4400 out the door light weight 19x12 and 10x 10.5. 325 30 rear and 305 30 front

As for the question about the wheels unfortunately I can’t help you, won’t be 100% certain the wheels I’ve ordered will fit until they arrive and are test fitted.

they are also very good on street. hook up like a drag radial. warm up around town in a few minutes. could launch my 650 HP corvette hard. i had four sets on that car. my buddy loves them as well on his GT3 RS. dropped 3 seconds off his laptimes first day with them.
i see the R888R are an option for stock sizes. i used those before and are a decent tire. they do fall off mid session though. even noisier. more expensive. NT01 were better. the aR1 were even better than the NT01s.
oh and they are fine in rain. zero drama.
Pleased to hear you say they are ok on the road also as most of the tracks I’ll go to are 2-3 hour drive away and I think the new wheels will look pretty good on the car so wouldn’t mind leaving them on from time to time.

i kept mine on all the time. tons of street miles. tires were still great on track to the fourth day. 👍
what rims did you get ? size and offset ?
Front are 9jx19 ET61 (exactly same as current fronts) & rears 11jx20 ET68 (current rears are 12jx20 ET46) so I’m putting in an 18mm spacer to put them pretty much where the current rears sit, I don’t think 4mm difference from original offset will be any issue but I’m new to this sort of thing so I may be wrong.

never even thought about the wheel motor. good to know about the CRS. think i’ll skip it.
Im very tempted to use the 305 30 20 for rear. gt3 guys use the 305 sport cup on a 12 inch rim from factory. looking at specs the sport cup section width and tread width is not any wider than the AR1 ……. will make rear diameter 1/2 inch smaller. front is still 6/10 smaller diameter than rear. speedo will be off a little

I'm curious to the 305 AR-1 as well, not too worried about speedo since it's going to be track only but really like to see how they compare against the cup2s.

blow the pants off the cup 2. cup 2 R ZP may be as good for a few laps but then fall on their face where the AR1 keep going.

so any other brand wheel with same size and offsets should work correct ?
thanks
Hankook 300/680/19F 320/710/19R
Michelin 28/69/19F 31/71/19R
I did not do any speedo recalibration and I also don't know the exact offset. I dont remember finspeed telling me the offset. I checked my old invoice and that info was also left out.
I could check with V8ray to see if he knows the offset on his track wheels.

okay great. thanks. running the carbon ceramics still ? i’m putting my AP kit on front and was planning on getting girodisc rotors and new pads for rear.

I bedded them in slightly before going to the track and then again more aggressively during the first session.
They performed phenomenally, I was a bit worried in a drop off in performance vs the CCBs. No worries at all. I beat on them pretty hard. Only issue I can think of is that the front tires heated up a lot faster than I previously remember when I was at Area 27 on the CCBs. Thinking a bit more heat retention in the Iron vs Ceramic. Just consciously forced me to be a bit more light/quicker on the braking zones.
