I prefer microfiber mitts. Lambswool isn't bad, but beware some of them can scratch your finish.

I like the lambs wool mitts to wash. I have several. I use it once then put it through the laundry with the terry towels I dry my car with. I let them air dry as oppossed to putting them in the dryer.

After trying several products I can say that top quality lambswool mits are great. Top quality microfiber mits are great too. Both are better than sponges imo.

Question Microfiber mits

I just read on Autopia that microfiber mits are not good for washing cars because their fibers are too small to soak up enough soap and carry away enough dirt. I actually just bought a microfiber mit to replace my old lambs wool mit (which had strangely enough become infested with fire ants ??? -- go figure). Anyhow, I've only used it twice, but it seemed to work fine without causing any swirls. Anyhow, what do the gurus think? Is microfiber an acceptable substitute for a lamb's wool mit?

Natural or Synthetic will make a world of difference. I do think a natural sheepskin mitt to be superior to Microfiber mitts due to the shorter pile (especially on dark coloured vehicle paint)

Natural Sheepskin Washing Mitt-
Groit's Sheepskin Wash/Dust Mitt, these will last longer than synthetic's, the fibres won't pull if hooked on trim, it's soft to the touch (and to the paint film surfaces) holds plenty of wash solution the ensure the flushing away any harmful dirt and grit
