E320 CDi mod
I had managed to upgrade the compressor wheel of the OEM turbo to GT2871R wheel (51.2 mm ind and 71 mm exd vs. 44.5 mm and 59.4 OEM wheel). I am also putting together intercooler for this project. Already have 4 bar MAP sensor and intake w/o flaps. Planned changes to the ECU map are:
Higher rail pressure.
Timing adjustment.
EGR delete.
Injection pulse width adjustment.
Changing turbo vanes open position - maybe using longer rod.
My question is:
W/o changing or overhauling my injectors what power gain should I expect.

So you want to use a fooler for the rail pressure sender?
No, no fooler will be used, I said "like" because that what they do - alter the signal from fuel pressure sensor, thus raising fuel pressure, ECU map is getting changed so higher pressure is build and held in the fuel rail.
Beside the turbo and cooler everything else is done through the software.

But I don't understand your question about the rail pressure, I won't be changing any fuel system hardware.

if you want more then 300HP without injection duration that will give you sky high EGT you need a different map & fuel pressure.
We didn't find the fuel pressure map in the ecu though

I have a 05 e320 CDI, with just a eurocharged tune on my car, and have a muffler delete. I wanted to know how to get more performance, i have read this whole thread, but i was just looking for somewhere to start.
The tune put me at 212 WHP and 370 Tq at the wheels.
This was ECU flash.
What else can i do to make my car faster. !
thanks. and who tuned the ecu for bigger map sensor?
3 bar (2 bar absolute) MB # A 006 153 99 28 or A 004 153 31 28
4 bar (3 bar absolute) MB # A 007 153 00 28
3 bar (2 bar absolute) MB # A 006 153 99 28 or A 004 153 31 28
4 bar (3 bar absolute) MB # A 007 153 00 28
the 3 bar(2 abso) i found today playing with EPC are:
006 153 99 28, 006 153 15 28 and 004 153 84 28
i think the 004 153 31 28 is 2.5 bar not 3.
is there anyone here on the forum went with bigger map? who tune for it?
who calibrate the ecu??
thanks.
They all max out at 4.5 V - just different number 3 instead of 2 and so on. They should know were in the MAP is located and should be able to change it.
I have decided to upgrade my c220 using the good advice from this thread.
I have a question for Tuikku or anybody who knows the answer.
In terms of the turbocharger, I have understood that the GT2359v is the best option, and that the one with the vacuum is the best due to the position of the pressurised air outlet.
I have three part numbers for this turbo:
6130960199, 6130960299, 6130960499
Anybody knows the difference between them and which one to chose?
Otherwise has anybody succesfully installed the one with electronic actuator, part number 6480960099?
Tuikku, you say that you have the vacuum type turbo with an electronic actuator. Did you just fit an electronic actuator?
Finally, how did you guys fix the turbo? I don't think it would be wise to have the whole weight of it hanging off the exhaust manifold. Did you create custom fixtures?
Thank all,
Michel
