My W212 is passing 10 years mark, my Ford T turned 100 last year.
Bot run like new ones, although I have motor mounts for W212 coming.

no they dont, they gave me only the final estimation for new tork inverter, 6k$+ time. the car never done this befor the AEM, it drive like a charm before and now on every morning start it stalls and must let it run for some minutes before putting it in gear. one of my freinds reported he got the same stalling problem after doing the repromming in his VW TDI too, that convince me more and more that it has something to do with the AEM.Originally Posted by kajtek1

Hello, 2009 My GL 320 was checked in in February 14th, 2023 for emissions repairs pertaining to cheat device settlement. The vehicle was fine otherwise, drove well, no suspension, brake issues or major issues. March 17, 2023, (one month later) I was informed that the vehicle has suspension issues post repair and that the brake pedals "go all the way down" - No idea how that could have happened, but I've escalated to the General Manager at this point because these issues did not come up when the vehicle was inspected in February. The Service Manager in the San Jose location has not responded to any of the 5 voice mails and messages.
Make sure you have a full inspection of the vehicle before bringing into the dealership and then when they check it in...suspect the repair comes with new problems either due to improper care or incompetence.

The suspension and brakes have absolutely nothing to do with the AEM. You are driving a 14-year old vehicle, so maintenance is expected. What suspension issues do you have? When did you last flush your brake, change your brake lines, replace your booster? Are you really suggesting that the dealership sabotaged your vehicle?Originally Posted by 2009GLBlueTec

If you talk the same way with SA, I don't really blame him for not answering the phone.

My w212 had check engine light a week after AEM recall. Car started to hold gear at high RPM, and jerky 2nd to 1st shift at slow down. Dealer found issue with "diesel particulate filter (DPF) differential pressure sensor". This $100 part was not covered under AEM warranty, so have to pay for dealer diagnostic fee of $300. Ended up costing me ~$500 more to fixed at another dealer. 2 months later old leaked from filter housing, lead to snapped serpentine belt. Still love the car and not willing to let it go.
My X166 had AEM recall done. Engine has been fine for ~17k mile. No oil leak anywhere.

Even if the part is not covered by AEM warranty, any troubleshooting with CEL is. Originally Posted by hai00

Car runs great very happy with the AEM mods, but of course wit the new ECU my Autel scanner stopped working. OK, upgraded the Autel (MK808) and all is well but it still can't diagnose the DEF system, let me know how much fluid is left, stuff like that. Anyone have any advice on an alternative way to gauge the DEF quantity remaining?

Scan Gauge 3 reads all those parameters on my Sprinter with pre-loaded software, so I did not have to program X-gauge like on SG2.
What I like the most is pretty accurate fuel gauge. Sprinter has big. long tank and dash gauge is pretty erratic. Now I can plan my trips on desert without worry if I will make it to next station.

Update: Turns out most modules are readable -- I had the key on, but the engine needs to be running in addition.

Hello,
We have had problems with our 2010 350 GL since the "Free Install Field Measure to Update Emission Control". We noticed the oil level warning was coming on regularly and had the dealership do a heavy oil consumption test. Since the "Free Install" the vehicle now consumes 3 litres of oil per every 1000 kilometres. The dealership has done their best but it is out of their hands. We have contacted Mercedes Canada and they refuse to acknowledge the problem has to do with emission control changes. We have since learned that this is also happening to other same make vehicles as ours since the "Free Install". Has anybody else noticed the same problem?
Thank you!

That makes no sense whatsoever - it's like saying that you had a "free car wash" and that it has been raining ever since, and that you have since learned that that this has also happened to others. Correlation is not causation.
Nothing that gets performed as part of the emission recall has the ability to increase oil consumption, so in this case the dealership is most likely correct. You have a problem with the car somewhere, but is is almost certainly not a result of anything they did or could have done. The first thing you need to do is find out where / how the oil is disappearing and go from there.

Hello Sir,
I don't know a lot about how vehicles function but I do know these facts.
1. The oil consumption problem started after the "Free Install Field Measure."
2. Dealership acknowledges this
3. Other older Mercedes GL 350's about the age as mine are also having the same problem

Hi,
We found that after the "Free Install Field Measure to Update Emission Control", our 350 GL is burning through 3 litres of oil every 1000 kilometres. The dealership has done their best to figure out why it's happening and now we are dealing with Mercedes Canada. Other owners of similar aged vehicles are also experiencing this problem after the so called "update".

Our problem with the oil consumption started right after the work as well. In the process of gathering information from other owners who are experiencing this problem as well.

Nope, no additional oil consumption on my 2012. Who are these other owners you are gathering information from? Do you see any oil leaks? Have you looked for any oil leaks? Have you changed the oil cooler seals?Originally Posted by Michelina

Not sure if this is the same problem but we had the field measures completed in October , 2022 on our 2010 GL350. We use about 2 litres of oil per fill up over the last year or so. In January 2024 the engine light came on with a P2459DPF Regeneration Frequency code. The local Mercedes dealership says they need to diagnose the problem, at my cost, and if a forced DPF regeneration is required its also at my cost. Mercedes will only warranty if parts need replacing. The AEM extended warranty doesn't seems very useful. I am not taking it in at this time because the vehicle is not worth putting another $1000 into it when its using 2 litres of oil very week or 2.
Maybe I should just put the money towards a DPF delete.

If you're using a liter of oil a week, I am afraid a DPF delete is not going to solve your problems.Originally Posted by Nanoose

Please do not give up!! Mercedes knows they have a problem and don’t know what to do about it. You need to keep at it. They are trying to wait us out and tire us out. They are at fault here and we have encountered other cars like ours facing this problem. We are not the only ones. Please call us if you have questions. We have owned Mercedes vehicles for years and deserve better than this from them. They want us to give up. Please keep at it. Call us if you need more information. 604 218 2114. Did the car had AEM done and is under extended warranty?
The warranty gives the owner FREE testing for any CEL, regardless if the issue is covered by warranty or not.

Yes AEM done October 2022. Not sure what a CES is, but the Mercedes dealer told me any testing is my cost and if no part has failed all work is my cost. This means a DPF regeneration is at my cost. Maybe the dealer is wrong, but what can I do?

Someone posted the warranty here: https://mbworld.org/forums/diesel-fo...-warranty.html
If you have a CEL (check engine light), they will cover the cost to diagnose
