Are you a USAA Member? If not chances are you are not getting the a E550 Coupe at invoice. E550 coupe is exclude from all car buying programs except USAA and even on USAA it is still only 500 below invoice and that is with a $2k fleet discount. Take away the fleet discount and you are really paying $1.5k above invoice and between invoice and MSPR their is about $3k only.

If you read http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.eea6b46/0 in that thread you will see people are getting between $1-2k off E550 coupe in general as the supply is super tight on them. Even if you are in an area where demand is softer maybe you can expect to pay maybe $1k above invoice.

Also be aware of it, that E550 lease are outrages too, their is no special at all, and lease are running over $1k per month + tax with minimal drive off.

With all the above said, even the E350 coupe leases are outranges and those without going via a buying program are hard to get at invoice or below invoice too. As MB is producing very few coupes compared to sedan and from the very few coupes a very small percentage is V8.

just to add to this, I live in Long island and went to 3 out of 4 dealers and there were no decent deals, best i could get was 1600 off msrp, i was actually going to hold off on buying the car till next year. Im a USAA member and they had a car buying service that was able to secure 2k under invoice but i have to travel to northern jersey to get the car. I ended up odering the car at the end of janaury and are hoping to get the car next week sometime. But yeah its the same story from all the dealers "new car" "limited quantities" if you can wait a year, after the cars out a while, maybe sales will slide you might find a better deal. And as far as financing i ended up using my own bank because there were no decent financing options either.

Just to add a little more to above, I have a Cab on order, I was told I will get the car for $3k off of MSRP $2k from USAA buying program and $1k discount based on the fact, I have bought over 15 cars from the same dealer over the last 20 years.

And the finance options via MBF is 5.9% for 36 months or 6.9% for 48 months currently as both the coupe and cab only qualify for standard rates.

Via USAA I was offered 4.2% for up to 60 months but I was able to get approved for BOA at 3.2% for up to 60 months with a 60 day lock. I jumped on that offer thinking maybe by the time my car arrives in May BOA rates might be higher.

My local dealer does not work with BOA at all and the best they could offer me was 4.5% via Chase.

P.S. the BOA offer requires a BOA checking account and 20% down otherwise the rate is 3.75%.

Thanks a lot, guys. I'm not a member of USAA, so I'm not qualified for USAA discount. A salesman has called me a lot since I test drove. He said he could give me a big discount but he wouldn't say how much until I go talk to him at the dealer again. The car has around 100 miles on it already since it has been test driven by people. The MSRP is $65,655. What should I expect to pay a car that already has 100 miles on it? Thanks again for your help.

Well I am in Ca and here is a screenshots from BOA webpage for both CA and NY state. If the dealer is telling you the rate is 4.3% they are marking up that rate, goto BOA web page directly. When I change my area from CA to NY state, the rate shows up as low as 2.84%

To the OP I do not think you are going to get a huge discount on a car with 100 miles over one with 25 miles, normally dealers do allow people to test drive cars. If the car had 5k miles on it then it would be another story.

How did you get "Black Ash Wood" Code 736 considering No E-Class offers Black Ash Wood steering wheel, and if you look at MB web page it specifically says Wood steering wheel is only offered in burl walnut wood on the sedans where black ash wood is officially offered in the USA. On both the coupe and cab black ash wood is special order only and I was told specially that black ash wood steering wheel is not possible at all.

The same was true for CLK as well. If you choose Black Ash Wood you were unable to get the matching wood steering wheel.

Congrats, Jake! That's a great deal. I finally picked up my E550C too. MSRP is $65,655. Got it for $62,150. Love it! Maybe I will sleep in the car tonight.

black ash wood
About the Black Ash Wood, I saw a E550 Sedan on the floor of a local dealer, that had the black and tan leather with the black ash wood trim, steering wheel and shifter, once I saw that combination I knew that was what I wanted on my E550 Coupe. I love the look and I did not know it was something that was a special order. I have to say the Arctic White with Pano roof, black and tan leather and black ash wood is a great combination. I am still learning all of the options and features on my Coupe and absolutely love her, she gets her clear bra this Saturday and than a medium tint on the back window and light tint on the side windows after that. I still have not come up with a name for "her" yet.

Let me ask you is it possible the black ash wood steering wheel and shift *** were not factory installed? I called my dealer after I saw your post to ask if I could get black ash wood steering wheel and shift *** and I was told after he researched it that it was not possible and he is 100% sure because I asked that option when I ordered my E550A. If you look at the MBUSA E-Class Sedan and you select sport package which comes with Black Ash Wood, it says Wood steering and shift is not available.

Now he did offer to order black ash steering wheel and shift *** but he said he would install it at the dealer and it would cost $1250 and would not be warranty covered either.

BLACK ASH WOOD
No it was factory installed, the steering wheel and shift knob were a $750.00 option, listed on the MSRP. my car is a 02/10 production date maybe that is the difference because my mirrors are also a little different from my twin brothers 2010 E350 that has a production date of 09/09.
call me at my work if you want 925-833-9292 ask for Bob
