WTB: LED License Plate Housing for MY11 - E350 coupe

Guys,

Please tell me where can buy a pair of those? I want to replace the whole housing instead of the bulbs.

Is E350 coupe same as C207 or W207? What are the differences?

Thanks.

yes c207 and w207 are interchangeable. i believe it's supposed to be c207 for coupe, but it's also refered to w207 on ebay, where you can find full housing. you can also find a vendor on the forums, best bet, the C-class forums, as they tend to be more inclined to mod their cars than most.

I PM to one of the vendor here and he replied to me that he did not carry the product anymore

Apart from on the E-Coupe/cabrio you can't get to the bulb fitting without either going through the lining in the trunk or removing the black surround where the lights are.

Of course, I did an internet search before I post here.

I emailed to this ebay seller about 5 days ago. He replied to that these led license lamps DO NOTfit the E-coupe.

I don't understand why he put these lamps are applicable to W207? Maybe, did he confuse with C207 and W207?

I went to the dealership yesterday and check the OEM housings between the coupe and the sedan, it looks like the are the same size.

Anyone bought these bulbs from this ebay seller and install without any problems?

If you pull the trigger and buy them, and they work, let us know. Someone is going to have to spend the first $45...

Also, you can call a MB parts dealer and see if the part#'s are alike for the W207/C207

Ok guys, I bought this set, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280738825654? they will fit as they're the same shape as the bulbs I have currently but I haven't got round to fitting them tried one method which didn't work, I will be trying the method from inside the trunk lining over the weekend. If that fails then I'll simply give the bulbs to my dealer and get them to fit them when the car goes in for its first service in a week or two.

I emailed to Racing Dash head office in Taiwan already, they are going to check the lamps with my VIN number.

Too much confusion for W207 & C207. Is W207 official to Mercedes?

Those are the replica ones, but I cannot see / find any differences compared to the RD brand such as shape and the clips from behind (only the number of leds, brightness and reliabilty are better from RD).

It seems Racing Dash cannot confirm whether their License lamps will compactible to the E coupe.

I just ordered a set of LED License Lamp housings from an ebay seller from Hong Kong.

I'll let you guys know the outcome.

Anyway, anyone have pictures how to remove the existing OEM license plate housing?

The answer is "YES". I ended up buying the RD brand. The color temperature is identical to the OEM xenon bulbs. The one that I ordered from H.K. is very bright but a little bit blueish to me.

I bought a set of LED housings that I never used if anyone is interested. I went with the bulbs instead, thought the housings were too much work. Anyway, I'll take pics of them when I get home, asking $35 shipped.

Very similiar to this DIY: http://www.rdash.com.tw/product_doc/...stallation.jpg

EXCEPT

you have to pull "slowly and carefully" the black plastic piece out (using a small screw driver and insert into the little slots) under the chrome strip (under the MB trunk emblem) in order to remove the whole unit of the OEM license lamp and re-install the LED license lamp unit.

Once you pull down the liner of inside the trunk, put your hand in and squeeze the legs to loosen the license lamp.

You don't have to take off the trunk liner.

Hi please confirm that I will not snap the black plastic housing and cause damage if i continue to wedge with a screw driver. The sides have loosed but the centre part around the door handle remains very stiff. I cannot see any screws on the inside but am worried that I may cause damage.

Thanks
