Wtf check engine light
On my way out to dinner with the family my check engine light pops on with no error message in the service setting. Anybody else with this issue? Also my driver side seat belt get stuck from time to time.
Any newyork locals recommend any good service dealers

just have the dealer or someone else scan the code and let us know what it is for. make sure your gas cap is tight because a loose one can cause that light to pop on in-and-of itself

Might try the gas cap ...my girl was the last to full it up.. Low coolant just give me a message so a vist to lakeview Benz tomorrow

If you haven't already gone to the dealer wait awhile. Things like error codes for a loose gas cap sometimes take several engine cycles to clear.

They also take a few cycles before they activate the warning light but are pending in the computer, kind of similar to the pending charges on your credit card.

Some error codes are more immediate if they portend immediate possible engine damage.

Lakeview have a cool staff service advisor jason took care of me Check engine problem solved took about a 2hrs at most it needed a purge value and clamps

Code number is (1077) mechanical defect or component y58/1 purge control value is permanently open and a hose clamp

Mine came on over the weekend too, with less then 30K on the odometer. Bring it in to to the dealership today.

Got a called from the dealership, and my engine check light is due to the thermostat. The parts is back order in the U.S. and they have to get one from Germany.

Not at all, the thermostat is still working but the computer is throwing out the error code. They are going to change it just to be safe.

This doesn't make any sense. The computer threw a code because a reading presumably the water temperature was out of design limits. Either the temp sensor or the thermostat or some other system which impacts coolant temperature is not functioning correctly or the monitoring / diagnostic system is faulty

Thermostat is pretty much what I got from the conversation with the adviser. He didn't go into detail on how they got to that conclusion.

Jus got the car back had a misfire in cylinder 1 and 6. Also got a software update I like that we now have a Eco mode on the navi to find the most fuel Efficient route and the boost mode in the sound system
