E550 Coupe
New Member! Hi all! lol

Hello dear forum buddies lol just got an used e550 coupe and saying hi!

Cant wait to start modding her up! So the first 2 things i would love to do is drop the car on springs. I'v read that h&r and barbus are available. and 2nd would be to get some rims.

I LOVE THE STANCE AND WHEEL SIZE OF THIS CAR! but i cant tell the specs. do you guys thing these are 19's?

also for the offset can i go 35mm? or is that too aggressive with a drop? i was thinking 19 inch and 8.5 front 9.5 rear with 35 offset but i have no idea if this will sit flush or not? or if it will be way tucked in behind the wheel wells. new to the mb scene so your help and input is greatly appreciated!

thanks!

Read closely to what they say..look at ThreeMBs post:

Ideal flush offsets for stock hight C207/A207 E coupe/conv and W212 E sedan (except E63) would be:

front 8.5" - et32 (range would be et30-34)
rear 9.5" - et38-39 (range would be et37-40)
rear 10"** - et44-45 (range would be et43-46).

Above is base on me trying numerous different wheels/offsets on my 2010 E550 cpe and 2010 E350 rwd sdn. Also above is based on "normal" width tires as should be used on these cars: 245/35-19 & 275-30/19, or 255/35-19 & 285/30-19, or 235/35-20 & 265/30-20, or 255/30-20 & 285/25-20.

so for the front 8.5 when you say et range 30-34 you are talking about the offset correct? so would 19's 8.5 35 offset would be a no go?

i wanted to do 35 off set front and 45 off set rear. would that work and sit flush? also planning on lowering the car on springs. so should be dropped like 1 or 1.2 inches.

thanks a lot man you are really helping me out!

I think that your proposed 19X8.5et35, 19X9.5et45 would work okay. My summer set-up is 19X8.5et39 245/35, 19X10et50 275/30 and the front could come out a bit more, 34 or 35. I like the flush on the rear but with a 9.5 you would probably want to be 42 or 43. I am not lowered.

You can get offsets from anyone here that will help, but you can't really compare properly if a person doesn't have the same set up that you envision. The tire size that you want to use and the drop will have an impact on the appropriate offsets.

i see awesome advice. GRRR the rims i want only come in 35 or 45! and i definitely want to lower 1 inch

how flush are you with your setup of 39 front and 50 rear?

As I said I think I could have been a little more aggressive on my front offset with a et35 instead of et39 but I like the et50 on my 10 inch rear wheel.

Check out this thread that Gavro set up a while back, it should be helpful

OFSSET PICTURES&SET UP THREAD

Also, here is a link to the thread I posted when I got my new wheels with pictures

My E550 Coupe ...

I think that the et35 front will be a great fitment but the rear at et45 may not be as aggressive as you would like. If you were to use a 285 tire instead of a 275 it may get you where you want to be.

hmm so should i just got 35 offset for front and rear? or would the 45 offset be more aggressive as for sticking out more and being more flush to the fender?

My car is not dropped, must be the camera angle that gives it that look.

I think that et35 in the rear may be too much poke, somewhere between et40 and et42 with a 275/30 tire would probably be better. Remember I have no experience with lowering and don't know what effect that will have on the final fitment.

If you love the wheels that you mentioned you might consider 5mm spacers on the et45 to create et40 ... although my preference has always been to purchase wheels with correct offsets and avoid spacers. A lot of members on the forum use spacers.
