Grill removal on E coupe... Please help.
I have done the search and watched a poor dyi on you tube but I can't seem to get this grill out. I have all of the upper plastic intake & cover area removed but can't figure out the clips to pop it out. Please help.
It was much easier to change the grill on my c coupe.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

~ Well I figured it out after lots of patience ... Not the easiest MB grill I have removed but the silver painted area is now being professionally painted gloss black. This should look great! Pics to follow.

Bump...sorry if this has been answered else where but how exactly did you get the front wing off? I am strugggling removing the front grill as I don’t believe it’s the same process as older models...I can get the front upper sides of the grill to move a bit but the bottom has no give to push in. I have the ‘14 E350 Coupe with the ome single winglet.

Thank you for the attachment, but pardon my ignorance this is my first Mercedes, from what I can tell for the 2014 E350 Coupe you must remove the front bumper to remove the grill? Can anyone confirm this?
I've seen a ton of DIY Mercedes grill removals on youtube, but none have been the single wing front grill and from my attempts last night, I don't believe its the same process of removing the support bar bolt and pushing in followed by lifting the grill up and out, as other models are.
If front bumper removal is necessary I think I'll forgo the changing of the entire grill, but it appears the OP was able to remove just the plastic wing from the grill. If anyone knows the steps required to that, it would be a tremendous help.

Should not have to remove bumper, I posted it to bring attention to line 9 and reverse side of grille attachment points, catch hooks, etc. See attached 212 grille removal to better explain catch hooks, etc.

Thanks, I'll give it another go tonight to see if I can get it off without breaking anything. I'm wondering if I need to work my hand behind the grill bottom, and try to unclip anything or if applying pressure back towards the engine will be enough to pop the bottom free.

~ no need to remove the bumper... once it's done once it become easier to figure out... but you have to be a bit aggressive with it.

Andrew E,
I know this is an old thread but can you provide instructions how you got the silver wing out
I'm referring to your picture here:
Attachment 391024
I've looked at mine and I see the clips but it seems like I will break them if I try to force the wing out. I'm trying to avoid removing the grill. The pdf's that you and Konigster posted seem to require taking out the grill.
Anyways, what I'm really trying to do is to replace the star with an illuminated one. All the tutorials and videos i've seen are for pre-facelift. So if you know how to remove just the star on a facelift version, please let me know.
Also, I really like what you did with the wing and will probably try to do that later.
Thanks.

this photo may aid...
the center star actually twists left to be removed (an insert). place your fingers in the star to get a good grip and turn left and it will release. this is the way the illuminated star installs as well.
as for the gloss black painted piece... the small clips release from the backside and once you get one of the edges to separate, the rest pulls free. take your time.
