I have recently purchased a 2013 E Class Cabrio, In the centre consul box (the unit fitted between the front seats) there are two female multi pronged jack plugs one large and one small they are mounted in the side structure obviously a factory fitted item.
Can someone inform me what there purpose is?

1 - What plugs into the ports ?
2 - Whatever plugs into the ports was it a Mercedes paid for extra or is it a standard item ?

 

Media Interface cable to connect mobile device or aux input. There are several options for device connector such as iPhone lightning.

 

The other port should be standard USB.

 

fits a usb to play music or connect to a phone, but it will not charge your phone or ipod..

 

Does all the hardware come with the car or do you purchase what is required after you have taken delivery?

 

You purchase your own connectors depending on the devices you are using. If you use an Apple phone you need the connector specific to that model. Hope this helps.
