Strut Bar Front and Rear

Has anyone tried this out? Considering it for my 2014 E350 RWD. Maybe the lack of center pillars but the body feels way more loose than my previous Porsches and M cars.

W204 Strut Bars also fit the C207, I have read. Probably save yourself some money and have more options. vintageaxeman confirmed this this forum. link below. & Yes, they help with body roll/cornering/all around handling.

Not 100% about the rear or bottom braces but if the front towers are identical to the W204, then you can safely assume the rear is too. Same chassis and all..

I have front and rear struts and lower front brace on my 550. I love it. Tightens up the steering. Still body rolls though but strut bars don’t fix that. Will be getting silvers neomax coilovers next.

Really thinking about doing the front strut bar and this rear subframe brace.

Seems like those two would make the most difference?

I didn’t get the rear subframe brace because I didn’t know how to install it. Others on the w204 said the same thing. Also it connect one point of the subframe to another point of the subframe, which is pointless because the subframe is a giant piece of steel. Now had it connected the subframe to the main frame, then that would benefit the car my reducing subframe bushing flexing and helping against wheel hop. The other bars they sell aren’t needed either because our cars, at least my car, came with it stock already. The one in the middle, the one that goes by the transmission, and the dual bars around the transmission. Even that large front lower triangle bar is semi not needed because our cars came with them, but it’s very thin. And the UR bar is thick. So went ahead and got it, along with the front strut bar and rear strut bar. But know this, if you do get that front lower triangle bar, you will have to cut some plastic off to make it fit.

Thanks, the biggest issue I feel is flexing on the chassis especially when the ground is uneven. Doesn’t inspire confidence when taking fast corners or quick switchbacks.

I feel the same way. It seems our cars would have been better off with a steel roof instead of panoramic. Too much chassis flex with the pano roof

The reason it feels way more loose than a Porsche or an M is that its not a Porsche or an M.
Not trying to be flip here (ok, maybe a little), but you will note there is no AMG version of this, unless you want to say the C63.
Yes, its the lack of b pillars, but the reasons are many, and it just does not have the suspension or ride of those cars, its a Mercedes E class, where the expectations are different, other than for a few of us who would like to run the bag off it lol. But lets face it....we would do the same to a Hyundai, or a forklift, or a Greyhound bus, cos thats who we are

Great points. I think my first purchase will be the front strut bar. I'm debating what would be the most effective way to stiffen the chassis in the mid and rear points.

I would do the front strut bar, then coil overs would be my next step. Better suspension that is adjustable will take care of a lot of issues before they are even transmitted to the chassis.

Yeah, I used to have some ground control coil overs in my BMW. They're certainly great for some things but I don't think they're quite what I'm looking for. The problem with this coupe is that it feels like it has the body flex of a convertible. Maybe not quite as bad but you can certainly feel the body flex quite a bit. I do think the panoramic roof is the main culprit, I feel like they didn't give the chassis any additional bracing over the C class sedan frame when removing structural pieces from the roof.

The convertible is what I own, so maybe I should just stay out of it lol.

To be upfront, I am coming from formerly tracking and autocrossing different Porsches, Ms, and RX7s. I am not looking for something quite so hardcore but I am looking for a little bit more sturdiness to the chassis.

Have you seen this thread here, from on the C63 forum? I recall this going on in my time over on that forum.
I would suggest BLKROKT as a guy to reach out to on this, as he has taken the platform about as far as anyone.
