2021 E450 COUPE EZ EXIT DRIVER'S SEAT

I'm pretty good about reading manuals. With respect to the EZ EXIT/ENTER feature, unless the seat already is all the way back, it is supposed to travel all the way back, and the steering wheel is supposed to rise all the way up to make exiting easier.

Although I have all the settings adjusted properly, the steering wheel does rise, but the seat does not move back at all, from my saved position of about half way back.
I called customer service and asked about a software fix, but apparently none is forthcoming.

Has anyone had their dealer's service department adjust this for them? If so, was it a mechanical fix?

The seat didn’t move in my E53 Coupe when I got the car. I actually brought it to the dealer and no fix was available. Later, after a COMAND software update for an unrelated issue, it started working. Now, both the seat and steering wheel move as part of the EZ Entry/Exit feature. I’m really not sure if the update fixed the feature because I didn’t have the update to fix that feature and didn’t notice it was working initially. I just happened to notice it worked sometime after the update.

The MBUX in your car must be more up to date than the COMAND system in my 2019 E53 though.

Should be addressed under warranty seat may need to be recommissioned (reset) using Xentry (MB diagnostics). Membership FYI MB released attached bulletin addressing Easy Entry steering column jams, nothing yet for seat.

EZ EXIT. Continued

Just spent the morning at the Dealership. #1 concern was the EZ seat.

No answers, no fix at this point. The manual which explains the way it's supposed to work must have gone awry when translated from German, since it states the seat will move all the way back, if it's not there already, after you turn off the ignition and open the door. That doesn't happen. It's not clear if I'm too tall or too short or if that matters.

There are two settings in my 2019. One moves the steering wheel only, and another both seat and steering wheel, but the seat doesn’t move to a position you will like. I have set the memory 3 to move both for easy out position.

I posted this on another thread, but I have the same problem. The seat actually makes it harder for me to get in when that is set to on.

I never had this issue with my 2018, it would go all the way back, wheel up and you could get in.

Worse, it seems to stay in that position until the point where you're practically driving and sometimes I actually have to press the memory button to get it to move.

I haven't taken it in yet because for virtually every problem I've had it's been "Oh, we aren't aware of any problem" or "there's no bulletin". Well, it's annoying.

My 2021 E450 Cab is actually worse as the seat back actually moves forward and seat does not move back when door opens/ignition off.

Bulletin “If a vehicle again suffers from the problem after the steps described above have been performed, please create a PTSS case” = request MB technical assistance.

Not you dealer need to advise shop foreman or lead tech, see bulletin posted above.
