The side console fad is a Euro thing. In usa, they are usually mounted inside the center console armrest. A company called KUDA makes these side mounted ones for the 124 in matching color also.

lots of cars
I think i saw one at the junk yard i go to. Also on the w124 you have the phone in the arm rest that's why i'll be hard to find. Try to look for the w126 or other models from 88-92.

w124 never had a comand. that was retrofitted and the bottom corners of the unit have to be cut and repainted to fit properly. There will still be gaps on the sides. I will post pics of my custom center console and see if you like that better. It's going to look 100% OEM. As for the post in pic 7, that is a nokia car phone with simcard slot. That is not available in the USA. The factory analog phone was available in the USA with memory buttons located on the top roof near the rearview mirror. The phone cannot be activated here since no one activated analog phones anymore due to non compliance with e911 regulations. You can find used handsets on ebay at times. I think I have one in my garage somewhere and I can check for it.

Only 94 - 95 W124s have the armrests that open ...earlier cars armrests are solid.

I have the OE phone from my 1992 500E if you are still looking...with the tan holder that attaches to the side of the center console. It is not hard to make them work with todays' technology/services either.

I have finished making the bezel that houses the screen. I am getting it matched to the burlwood in the car currently. I will post some teaser pictures of the bezel. The screen is a 6.5" touch screen. Unfortunately, the company that matches the wood will take 5 weeks to finsh the project since they are backlogged due to the SEMA show.

AWESOME! check pm!

and id love to get the phone in working condition if i could. but in the show scene, attention to detail is what puts you one step above the next guy. for the look im going for, the oem phone would be a cool little nicknack.
