If anyoen coudl help em with this problem it would be amazing...Ok my car basically gets to 87 degress than dies. I took it to the indy, he couldn;t diagnose the problem. So i went to the shop to pick the car up and my dad was following me home, nayways just prior to the engine dying a plume of grey smoke came shootign out of the tailpipe, anybody have any clues?

Maybe your head gasket? Maybe as it heats up and the metal expands, the leak gets worse until you're blowing coolant into the cylinders (grey smoke from exhaust) and losing compression (stalling).

just my first impression.

I don;t think it woudl stall out tho, it woudl still run with a blown head gasket. I don;t know if there are any indies near south western CT please let me know I will pay you to come look at my car

It all depends where it's blown. If the gasket failed between an oil channel and the outside edge - oil leak, between the oil channel and coolant channel - milky oil and sludgy coolant, between the cylinder and the outside - compression loss, maybe stalls, maybe won't start.

Maybe it was an ignition failure and the smoke was unburned fuel entering the very hot exhaust system.

Try to duplicate my prior experience with the failing crank sensor. Leave the engine idling for an extended period after a hot drive. See if you can duplicate the problem at your driveway. I was able to get this car to fail every time this way. When the hood was left open it would not fail as the underhood temp was lower. I could spray/cool the sensor down with brake clean and the car would restart. Worth a try.

what about checking the auxiliary fan circuit for a short - it cuts in when the temp. gets to a certain level...

Also if it was the head gasket wouldn;t thick clouds of smoke be coming out when it was hot the whole time, not just right before it dies, also it only blows smoke when its runnign when in idle in my driveway it will just die with out a puff of smoke.

I wouldn't expect it to puff smoke when at idle in the driveway. The engine speed is too slow. Does the car start right back up? Crank a long time before restarting? Does the engine "bog" before dying or just shut off? Any additional info you can provide will help considerably.

If it does not immediately restart, have someone listen for the fuel pump to run while cranking the engine. Check for spark at the plugs. It's either fuel or spark that is missing.

My opinion is it's nothing to do with the engine mechanically but either fuel or spark control. It's great that you can duplicate the problem at will and you should be to diagnose the problem with a little time, skill and patience. Give us as much info as you can and we can help steer you in the right direction.
