For the GenI from the dealership I presume you're asking about?

Last time I checked when i use to work for MB - Front and Rear bumpers were NLA. The only thing available were the Sideskirts which said the German warehouse has only 2 or 3 of.

I do have a source of a used GenI which needs repairing but other than that is in good condition.

it was only slightly more than that, shipping to me added a few extra hundred to it.

Thanks zorro... for making it more difficult to decide! dammit.

i think i'm going to stay with two-tone and keep the look of my car, because i know that if i do the cladding white, i'll have to do the whole car, and since i can't pay 5 grand to do it properly, i'd rather not do it at all... in a couple of years it will definitely need to be resprayed, maybe that's when i'll make it all white... i've got a lot of ***** going on right now, but i'm thinking i need to get this on ASAP, because first off, i feel sad seeing it on the floor of the living room, and second, i almost broke it to bits falling over it when i got home last night.

ALL white FTWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Although if you ever do go that route, take Alexbenz's advice and leave the chrome trim on the front bumper, it doesn't look good without it.

So whats the best way to take the cladding off ?.....I'm just about to get the car resprayed and would rather do these things myself rather than leave it to the professionals !

Depending upon the individual piece and the car in question, its best to get into the door/fender area, locate the plastic clips and release them that way. Pulling and/or bending the cladding panels is what ends up creating the waves. It also, in almost every situation, breaks off all the plastic clips.

zorro you tubesteak. this post of yours put the evil eye on me... i just pulled the front lip out of the plastic to see how sexy it looked, and i guess when i tripped over it i put a small crack in it... now i need to fix the f**king thing before i can do anything with it. Just FYI for anyone buying this kit, it is THIN, and very fragile. urethane ftw

sorry to hear that my friend..chances are though the body shop will charge relatively nothing to fix it cause it's before painting....not like they have to remove paint and primer then fix it etc...

That sucks dood....

f**k man! this blows! i'm thinking about getting a fiberglass repair kit and using it to reinforce parts of the kit like the corners... just worried it might not sit right if it gets too thick in parts. but as thin as this thing is, i doubt that will be a problem. son of a *****, i have the worst luck i tell you.

Should be an easy fix....make sure you reinforce the area in back of the crack to give the front repair some support.
You can use a fiberglass mesh in the back.

Glad that I got a heavy fiberglass Fald front spoiler....

WALD Kit

How much just for a front WALD piece? Not EX, something more aggressive.

And what are some places to buy one from?

how would i go about getting some fiberglass mesh? i want to fill in the gaps between the edge of my stock bumper and the edge of my bumper surround.. it's a gap of like a couple of inches but i think it looks horrible.. and i have a crack of about an inch i need to repair on the right hand corner. is this something i can do myself?

Pick up a fiberglass repair kit at an auto or marine supply, possibly even Walmart.
Also get some body filler like "Bondo".

The kit contains the mesh, resin and hardener.
Mix the resin and hardener together, soak the mesh with the mixture then slap it on the part you want to cover.
You can build up layers to attain the shape or repair that you desire.

Rough sand the fiberglass, the fill and sand with Bondo until you reach the finished result.

It's a DIY with a bit of practice....
