1992 300CE
Thanks for the info quoted below.

I thought the 1992 model year was the last year with the 24v 3.0L engine.
And the 1993 model year was badged 300CE,prefacelift and had the 3.2L engine. The subsequent 94 and 95 coupes had the facelift and the 3.2L engines.

I examined and drove (superb!) a 1992 300CE and I thought it had the 3.0L 24v engine.

I'm off now to look at a '93 300CE Sportline, high miles but I want to compare it with the stock suspension I drove yesterday which handled superbly, I was traveling at least 20mph faster than I though on backroads...

Cheers,

Mik

  • 90-91 has the early 3.0L 104 24 valve with CIS-E
  • 92-93 has the later more common 3.2L M104 24 valve with HFM-SFI
  • 94-95 has the 3.2L M104 with HFM-SFI, renamed E320 coupe with new styled hood, headlights, and trunk
If you're familiar working on the 300E, get the early CE with the same engine and EZL. The later versions can have VERY expensive EZL ignition control module failures. The (windshield back) body parts are costly in these beautiful coupes and the 92 and later years can have the wiring harness problems. On the other side, the later years have more power and better fuel economy, newer 134a AC refrigerant, and you'll generally find them with lower miles.

I think you're right that the 3.0L was up to '92 with the switch to 3.2L in '93. It varies more outside of the US.

My boss is selling his. It's got a few little mods... Lowered in the front, sportline steering box, bilstein shocks. And it is SUPER clean. I can snag some more pics for you tomorrow when I go to work if you are interested.

If you guys are serious in selling your 300ce's, you should post as many detailed pictures as possible and list your asking price. You should also provide details on the service history, Carfax and condition as well.

Powerpig, I see you like to park very close to curbs, so what is the condition of those AMG's?

For 2900 it might be a steal...I see a nice ding in that front fender first pic though...but that's an easy fix.

I saw the car CE in Toronto and that fender you mentioned needs to be replaced. Car is very clean everywhere else and runs really smooth.
