ld I purchase? 1991 300e Pics

Hey guys,

New to the forum here and plan on sticking around for a little while. I have had a bit of an affair with classic benz's since my Dad had one in the 90's.

I am totally new to the game really and am finally in a position where I can pick one up.

A friend of a friend is selling a 1991 300E, he says it has been sitting for about 6 months but it does run and runs well. I am going to take a look at it tonight or tomorrow so I was seeing if you guys can tell me some tips to check out.

HE says it may need some new plugs, and the a/c needs recharging.

the price is 2000.
Here are some pics.

I was looking for a FAQ of some sort but couldnt find anything.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Greg

That interior looks PRISTINE! $2000 is a great price.

If youre wondering what to look for, just do another search. The question has come up more times than I can remember.

WELCOME!

To be fair, I see a ripped seat and a ratty steering wheel (high mileage?). However, if it runs well it's still likely a good deal.

I noticed the steering wheel but the seat slipped my eye.

I figured cover would easily take care of the steering wheel issue.

Very true. I've actually made a habit of putting a Wheelskinz (sp?) on most cars I have. haha

yeah yeah yeah. The only sun damage I see is possibly the seatbelt latch.

There are a couple things, like the passenger map pocket barely beginning to peel. The arm rest has cracked seams, the back of the driver seat has an odd lump.

All in all though the interior does look very good. The color is overall a nice deep white, the wood does not look faded, and the dash is not cracked.

I do find it odd however that it does not seem to have a rear arm rest.

The armrest is in the stowed position.

I find it MORE odd that you didn't see that the armrest is there, in the up position.

i may be wrong but im pretty sure the "odd lump" is going to be on the backs of both seats, as it is the deely that releases the headrests from the adjustment motor (definitely not any of the correct technical terms ) or at least thats what they were on my W126

Woww I just completely fail in the this thread. I didnt realize that I could scroll farther to the right.

As for the lump, I meant just to the left of the large middle lump that I assume youre talking about.

Im just going to stop talking now.
