US/Canadian model W124's did NOT come with the rear fog. Why? Cause our drivers here are too fu(king stupid and would think you are braking with one light out. That car is either a euro or had the fog put in aftermarket. Two clicks out will activate it if it is in fact functional.

Every Mercedes-Benz since the 1970s has had a rear fog. My W116 has it. My E320 Coupe has it. Hell, my mom's W204 has it.
Every W126 and W124 I test drove has it too.

The early USA 124's ( pre face lift ) did not have the rear fog wired ( e.g. my 1988 300CE )
The later models did ( e.g. my 1994 E320 Cab )
Pull the switch out to the second detent and the switch lights up along with the two front and one rear ( driver side )fog light.

Did I say anything about other models than the W124?...what YOU smoked causes you to be reading comprehension-deficient. I'd stop.
As for the 94-95's, that's good info, thanks RBYCC, all I know is that neither my 89 or my 90 had/has it. That would ALSO mean the 86, 87 and 88 would not either.

my 94 doesnt have that switch
i think its one of those hit and miss things.
having worked for mercedes in the past i know that the tendency is for the cars come prewired for everything. (it saves on extensive labour costs down the road and shows a working mind) but as is often the case with these types of things, i reckon sometimes the switches were mixed up as they look very very similar.
they may have just gotten thier logistics wrong.
i know similar things happened with my BMW 2002 from way back in the day; there are standard items on my car that were not standard. it happens.
but anyway, the 124s were not supposed to come with a working rear foglight for the US market. they are pretty much all prewired for it, and its just a matter of adding the correct switch and a bulb for the most part.

1994 E320 (current)
My 94 320 has it and the best part about it is when you get some dip wad on your tail in his SUV ridding your tail you simply pull the light selector on and he thinks you are slamming on your brakes and he will immediately back off about 3 car lengths. You do it a couple of times and usually it confuses them so much they just back off or go ahead and past you (flying you the bird of course)

Just pull it out to the second detent and the switch will illuminate as will the single rear fog.
I don't believe late model 124's had different part numbers for the headlight switch.
Earlier models did because of the vacuum headlight adjustment which the USA cars did not have.
