Or point out that it aint stealin when you buy it.

My favorite response though is that the W124 is still being made somewhere (Korea?) as a model (Ambassador? General? Something)

Yea, imitation is flattering, but I still wish I could get my hands on a 2008 w124.

No kidding. There are too many design similarities to ignore. A forum member was able to actually use a 300c grill insert as an almost direct replacement in his w124. Then they dont even try to cover it up with a different name. funnyfunny

Enzo, my Benzo
300C is a heritage racing name from chrysler way back when...they didn't steal anything with the name.
The W210 chassis is the basis for the 300C, right down to the hazard button and signal and cruise and wiper stalks!
I really do like the 300C....I'd rock an SRT-8![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
ARe W124's really being made as new still?

I think so. This is from the wiki page on W124s
"SsangYong Motor Company of Korea licensed the W124 design and continues to produce a stretched version of the W124 as the Chairman, with a Ssangyong badge. It has a 2.9m wheelbase and 3.2L Mercedes straight-6 M104 engine. Chairman currently has 2.3L (M111), 2.8L (M104), and 3.2L(M104) engines in its product line ups. SsangYong Chairman has developed a 3.6L version of M104 engine recently for its high-end Chairman line up. The engine is called XGi360."

What I really want is that new 360 powerplant.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Hello
Just found this site and registered. If anyone is interested, I have owned this 1994 AMG E60 for the past 12 years. The only alterations were all birchwood center console, rear lip wing addition, and modified CPU (chips) to increase HP to north of 400HP. Jimmy

Absolutely gorgeous! I would not change a thing. Except maybe swapping out those yellow signal bulbs for some clear ones that still blink yellow.
Youre a very fortunate man. Many of us would kill for an E60.
More pictures would be much appreciated.

Thank you for the compliment, RivCal4Life. Indeed, E60 is an amazing car. That is why I keep this car, unable to find any newer cars to replace it. I bought this car used (only 6,200km) in 1996 as the second owner. At first, I was searching for E500. When I test drove one, I was impressed. By chance, this dealer also had this E60 (I didn't even know a thing about E60 at the time). Just for comparison's sake I test drove E60. To put it in few words, I could not believe the handling, response and power. I never looked back. Being a naturally aspirated (NA) engine, the whole package is truly an exquisite experience. I normally do not take many pics of my cars. I would take detailed pics for posting in the near future. I should stop for now cause I can go on and on. Thanx again. By the way, I guess that your handle RivCal means Riverside, CA. ? w/ smiles Jimmy

Thanx everyone for the kind remarks. Yes, I like this car. That's why I cannot think of any replacement car. I shall alocate my time to take some detailed pics to be shared. Give me a little time. If of any interest, this car has clocked around 75,000km (roughly 40,000miles ?). These cars (W124s) are built to last. Few years ago, I saw an article in this car magazine featuring E500 owner who has clocked north of 350,000km w/o any serious mechanical breakdown !!! That is amazing, indeed. Thanx again. w/ smiles Jimmy

W124's
Hey Jimmy, thanks for registering here on MBworld and posting pictures of your E500. I love your car and especially since it's an E60.
I'm very jealous and envious of the E500/500E or W124 AMG community over there in Japan especially with their representation of their love for the W124 and the taste as well. A W124 from Japan is what inspired me to build my car to look the way it is now.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Enjoy your stay.
