Was a decision reached about colour -matching the lower cladding?

Do my eyes deceive me, or is that extra glossy? Or is that just how well taken care of/fresh paint looks?

I certainly don't have that level of luster.

Looks like its going to be quite something Ed. I love how perfect the body flows into the flared fenders, top work man

Brett

What you see is the paint with the clear coat.
Still needs a whole lot of color sanding and final polishing !!!

All body panels, cladding, aero kit, etc will be signal red and all trim satin black...

Satin black trim!?

Holy cr@p!!
Sounds really dramatic, and much more contemporary.

Can't wait to see it, Ed.

You going to take it to Starfest in Phoenix in September?

Oddly enough the trim that appears to be a gold/bronze anodized was actually more satin black from the factory...
The UV aging breaks the color down so it looks a bit translucent !!

Phoenix is many miles from me...missed the Starfest in Virginia which was only a few hours away..It'll be back nearer to the East Coast in the future !

Ahh, you're restoring the hematite trim Ed? How'd you manage that? Pull/replace or painting over?

I rather like the gold color it's oxidized to on my car, it fits with the Burgundy well.

Hey. Ed;
Like Brett, I actually like the bronze ageing on my own car.
However, the black will look awesome against the red on your car.
What about the badges and chrome cladding trim on your car?

I was hoping to see it personally, but I live on the Left Coast - far from you.
I understand about distance, though. I tried to make it to Starfest in San Francisco, in 2008, but discovered my timing chain was "iffy" so I bailed. The trip was 1000 miles each way and, of course, I wanted to do track events too!

The next Starfest was down East, even further for me.
This year, I hoped to get my car to Phoenix, but there may not be enough time
:-(

Rear flares are from a 80's Porsche 911SC which incredibly match the contours and wheel arch of the AMG C124 kit.

Front is an overlay of a stock 124 wheel arches purchased from "Joef"

Used to go up every year in the nineties for the F1 race....
Great food and Eurpean feel....
Probably a 12 hour drive....

12hrs? What about from New York, how long of a drive is it? I will be there at some point visiting one of my college buds this summer.

I should hopefullly have my G500 by then!
Where in NY? NY City? I'm about 30m outside of there, and Delaware should be about 3-4hrs from there.
