Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, MINI and more!
There should be a part number stamped on them somewhere which will help differentiate between I6 and V8 models.

spring rates will be different. installing 400E springs on a smaller motor wont drop the car as much.

I was wondering cause I'm putting a v8 5.0 ho mustang motor in my 300ce. Thought it might help with the torque I'll be putting out.

Spring rates are different across different I6 models too. Even the addition of a radio can change the spring requirement. It did on mine.

When you buy high quality springs you need to supply the VIN and the supplier should match the springs to that specification. If not, it's guesswork and can lead to disappointment, extra work and, in extreme cases, to replacing your super new springs.

If the supplier doesn't ask for your VIN, find one who does!

Unless you love working under your car and experimenting.

Do you still have them? Location?
Aside from the springs, what's the deal with the pads? I'm trying to gather info on all the parts needed.
Does anyone know of a walk through on installing hem?
Thanks in advance.

you'll need a mercedes spring compressor if you're doing it yourself. In theory it's fairly straightforward, but in practice it always ends up taking way longer and things get stuck etc. etc. go to youtube and search for 'mercedes spring removal', you'll get an idea of what's involved

I've down some looking around and it seems that the Mercedes spring compressor is the way to go. Unfortunately it costs over $200 bucks. I'd hate having to buy it and only use it once. A mechanic I use on the wife's car said he'd charge me $400 to do the swap out (I supply the springs and shocks). Not sure if that's a good deal or not.

Any ideas?
