I thought it was going to be a breeze, but NOOOO...it took a bit of time to install with my brother, and the trunk lid...man...let's just say 3M makes good double-sided tape. Cut my fingers open trying to pry that thing off to fix the wiring. In the end, it was more than worth it...it totally adds a unique and 'complete' look to the rear-end of the E-Class.

The illuminated door sills are also really nice...adds that unique touch as well...I know that when I get another car, I'm most definitely putting them in the next car as well. Let me know what you guys think.

I haven't had any trouble with it so far, and I've had it installed for 2 months. We'll see.

Well, you can always buy different EL strips...I recall one of mine shorting out for a while when it rained real bad and I ran into a rather deep puddle. I was considering different colors. They come in yellow, green, red, different shades of blue, violet...you name it. Just have to find it. Then, I took the door sill apart and let it dry...good as new!

Not too bad...I got my instructions from zam2000...just do a search with his posts, and it'll come up. Depending upon your sills, you may have to do some drilling to clear the wires...

I really like the door sills. The trunk lid is definitely unique, although I personally wouldn't do it.

Well, I looked at the dimensions of the W163 trunk lid and the W210 trunk lid, and they seem to have the same measurements. It would be a rather expensive ($72 + $60) experiment, but here are the links to both the W210 illuminated trunk lid and the W163 chrome, non-illuminated:

W210 - E-Klasse:

W163 - ML-Klasse:

I hope that this helps you out, Reynaldo!

Thank-you so much, ghaffar!
I'm more concerned about the fitting than the cost, really...I'll call the car dealer to see if it fits.
Again, I really appreciate the info, ghaffar!

Cheers mate!
