Hubert,

Post the sale on the Bimmer forums too, the Gruppe M unit is a popular performance upgrade on the 3 and 5 Series model.

Good Luck!

.............well, I wish I waited. I just got the GruupeM intake and installed it one week ago. I ordered it from Rennsport and waited two months to get it. Cost was $800. I would not have minded paying $800 for a used one and avoided the incredible aggravation of dealing with Rennsport.com. No returned phone calls, no returned e-mails and I tem arrived 6wks longer than promosed with no explanation. So folks, if anyone is interested in the airbox, buy it Hubert.

Hubert, I was in your shoes awhile back ago when I decided to sell my E430...no offers were to my satisfaction so I just decided to sell the aftermarket parts. Any thoughts of selling the Kleemann kompressor unit? I'm certain there would be plenty of interest!!! I sold my HPS kit at $4500, $500 less than what I paid for....now, after all the HPS drama, their probably worth...well, what's the going rate for ENRON stocks. LOL

Anyway, let me know if I can be of more help!

Rennsport and Technik had a parting out, I believe that caused a delay. But also, not many stock the Gruppe M. Beastpower sells the units at $875. The guys at Rennsport & Technik Engineering (Samir, Anthony & Zolti) are personally friends, if I told you what I paid for my Gruppe M...you would literally fall out of your chair. Shoot me a PM the next time you want to purchase from them and I'll see about getting you a better deal.

..........best answer is no. At least there is no advantage of doing that in an E55 because it will cause you to go from dual air intakes to single air intake. The W210's have single air intakes except the E55. However, when you get a Kleemann s/c, you loose one of your intakes and become like the E320 or E430. Mine is an E55, with a Kleemann.

.............that will work, but I am not sure you will be gaining anything. The GruppeM kits sell for $800 each and will cost upwards of $1600 for two of them. At that price you can probably figure out something els you could do to get more HP. I don't think the GruppeM kis have been dyno testyed in our cars and not even sure it makes any power. You may get the same gains, if any, by installing two green fuilters in your air boxes and still be able to use your windshield wiper fluid.

post is over a year old.And you don't need it anyway, without boost you won't get any more air into the engine then you already get from the cool air duct and a clean oem filter from autohausaz.com for 12 bucks.

hows it running and did you ever get the code checked and fixed?
