Bas Asr Light
My bas asr light comes on every once in a while. Sometimes, i'll be driving for an hour before it comes on, somtimes it will not come on, and sometimes it comes on two minutes after starting the car. It feels as if the light comes on more frequently when i'm low on fuel, if that has anything to do with it... What are some things that I should be looking at? What does it even mean? I read about replacing the brake light switch, but my bas asr light only comes on maybe 1/3 of the time. Thanks for the help in advanced.

I anxious to know myself. I have the same problem right now. Sometimes it comes on when Im backing out of the driveway and other times its when i've been on the highway and go to take an exit. Doesn't seem to be the brake light switch for me either. Let me know and vice versa if you find out

I ran into two tricky items: the stealer sold me the wrong switch which I only found out after I took the dash apart and tried to replace- the guy in parts told me that I needed to always tell the VIN# to the parts guy when since some guys were not too sharp- I told him he was the not so sharp parts guy who sold it to me; second- be careful removing the panel because there are a few different types of fasteners and I broke one. The switch itself is a snap to replace and there are some good "how to's" posted if you search.

I just did mine last weekend. $28 for the part. And the part is specific per car so bring your vin with you at the stealer. Took me about 20 mins to install, its pretty simple.

Please, I buy parts on ebay all of the time. You just need to make sure they are authentic, and the guy has good feedback. I have also bought MAFs on ebay thank you very much, and had never had a problem with them because they were all bosch.
Oh, and why did someone bump this thread, it's like 10 years old.

Quite
a few members have done the same thing and the part says bosch but in reality the maf was in fact a chinese clone with the same part number purchased for 17 bucks by the ebay seller and sold to the unwary for a few hundred$.
Glad you have such great results.I just happen to rely on known parts from proven suppliers like autohausaz germanstar danielsternlighting and the like![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
