Indy Price for new plugs?
I want to get my 320's spark plugs changed. The Stealer want's $470 which seemed a bit high for changing plugs, but I've been conditioned by them against sticker shock, so no big surprise. I called around town for a better price and found an indy who will do all 12 for 150 dollars including plugs
. I made sure they were MB spec plugs and he said indeed they were. Should I stay away from questionable indy's for this work or is this a simple project that an average mechanic can do. I drove by his shop today and it looked a little less than stellar. No Ohlord, I am not going to do them myself. I had a hard enough time with changing the cabin filters

plugs oem spec ngk7090 are about 2.99 so he has about $110 for labor ,if his shop rate is $60 per and he knows what he is doing 2 hours and he could be done.I venture that if my tools are laid out on the bench and parts at the ready the job could be done in under an hour.So ask around to check his work,I know plenty of guys that make a living and will never get rich but do good work at fair prices and they sleep at night

strange?
My 99 uses the 7090 and the ngk site you listed shows the 7090 for the 99 and 01,I thought they both used the 7090.

more reasons to always confirm plug type,I use the 7090 because it most closely matches the fr8dpp33 that was oe called the bosch platin single side electrode plug.No need for those fancy over priced multi prong ones and the ngk are less then 3bucks ea.

I am going to purchase the plugs myself. You guys have me a little confused. I'd prefer the 3 dollar plugs however, I will pay 9 if that makes for a little better performance since it will be the only time I change the plugs in the car.

the
3 buck plugs fired fine for 100k,nothing gained on these engines by going to the multi tip plugs.

start
with the pass side once you have it all buttoned up the drivers side will seem like a walk in the park.I have some of the 17mm plug wrenches for sale delivered for 22 bucks,if you need one.removes the boots and help reseat them after you put the plugs in.
