Wax it. I suggest Meguiars NXT. Its synthetic and stands up better than carnuba based waxes that melt of easily in extreme heat. If you accidently get some on the leather or MB tex, it will wipe off without staining.

From what I understand, Pledge doesn't work well with the wood in the car. There's that clearcoat, and it's a bit different from the household variety. Correct me if I'm wrong. I use the PlasticX, and it hides the scratches very well, and protects it.

I have used pledge on my car and the wood looks like new.

after you spray a little on a piece of cloth you spread it on the wood and let it dry for a few minutes , then you buff it well with a dry soft cloth till you get a high glose .

I use Griot's Interior Cleaner

Mercedes wood is protected by an acrylic plastic cover. An oil based wood cleaner will produce an oily plastic surface.

Cheers

If the wood is scratched, it can actually be buffed with an orbital like the exterior paint. Use a fine compound first and evaluate from there. There is a fair amout of clear over the wood. After that, follow up with the previusly mentioned NXT wax, buffing it off with a microfiber cloth. Once it is nice and smooth, you can clean with a damp, not wet, just damp microfiber. That's how I keep mine clean. Nick
