I was searching the forum but could not find a clear answer about lug bolts.

I got a nice set of 2006 sport rims cheap and wouls like to put them on my 1996 E320,but I put the rims on and founf out my lugs bolts are to long for this rim. Can I go purchase the lugs bolts for the 2006 and will the work? Or will I need to buy a special conversion lug from RAD/OtisInc? It seems to me that I can just use the 211 lug bolts, correct me if I am wrong.

You WILL Need Different Lug Bolts as the W211 uses a Different size than the W210 does 12 mm vs 14mm with different ball seats. several shops make the bolts

Please do a search on this as it has been posted SEVERAL times here

Hay read this link below I went through the same thing. You will need a custom spacer to line up the wheel with the spacer to line up on the hub. A 5mm spacer is all you need but that leaves you little lip on the hub to locate the the wheel thats why you need the custom spacer.

new lugs
with the correct length and ball seat are far cheaper and much safer then using spacers.

To do it right, check out this link; contact information is at the bottom of the page. (2001 W210 E320 with W211 wheels with RAD lug-bolts.)

You need the spacer to have clearance at that nut. My sport wheel had an offset of 38 on a 8.5 rim do the math it needs a spacer. Sorry if forgot to say you will need the Rad lugs too.

Well thank you all at the forum got my new lugs on Saturday and installed the new rims. Phil over at RAD really helped out and sent the conversion lug bolts, very smooth experience with them. I will get some photos posted by weeks end when my camera gets back from the jobsite.
I did not want to use the spacer because sometimes I drive like I stole the thing so safety is my main concern. Took it out to make sure the wheel set was in good condition and no wobbles, I get worried when I get something cheap, never know.
