E420 V8 spark plug change -DIY pics anyone?
i find many DIY write ups with pics on spark plug changes, but none for the E420 V8 engine.
from experience, there are usually some differences between the V6 and the V8 engine, therefore it would be extremely helpful if somebody could share me a DIY-tutorial (with pics) on how to do a full spark plug change on the V8.
not sure, but my guess would be that the E430 engine should be a similar procedure.
Any hints and
show of tools needed is also most appreciated.
thanks guys!
checked that thread, indeed lots of pics there. maybe silly question, but is that AMG engine same as mine (i mean, the spark plug section at least)??
will try to pick a mechanic's brain at a local stealership tomorrow... at least to get me, a spark plug novice, on my way and not screw up.
cheers

thanks for the kind words & help.
i already feel confident to start the job, and you know... if i don't forget to take my camera i may as well take the pics myself for the future DIY on this engine

it seems pretty straight forward now, as I had gotten confused by reports on other engines, some extracts:
"lots of plugs in many impossible places"
"remove wheel and weld to get to sparks easier"
"remove these and those hoses for easier access"
"you need this bit and this extention and this special tool to reach it"
"careful not to slice your hand on the heat shields" etc etc....
i just have to be bit careful as i have LPG hoses and injectors just above the black shield covering the plugs, but it all seems manageable.
thanks again, and happy posting!

I have no problems right now car. It look sharp being 11 years new.
Compare to my Toyota's this car almost have same cost of owning.
Twice a year oil change, then at 100K plug, transmission, fuel filter, brake flash, air filter and V-belt. All happy. All the work done DIY with the help of this and benzworld forum.
changed the plugs last night... weather was nice so took my time (no rushing the first time), and was a satisfying and exciting moment to witness the car fire up straight away. Best of all, the shaking was gone!
runs smoothly now again.
cheers
