((((Pressurized Fuel Injectors Cleaning))))

Members,
Is it necessary to have this done on our model W210? At what interval??
If so, how much dealer charge??or can Indy shop do this as well??

No

toss in a can of Seafoam or techron injector cleaner when the tank is almost empty and fill it 1/2 tank. Then drive till almost on E and fill as usual.Do it once a year and change your fuel filter at the proper intervals and you should never have an injector problem.

There

are no car makers that even recommend pressurized injection cleaning service in their service books. If someone in Canada is telling you to do it every 80-100k km they are using it as a profit machine and your wallet is their supply tank.

The reason I asked was

a local MB dealer in Nor Cal near me sent out the coupon book that had offered this service for around $140.
I have also heard in the past that those injector cleaners you buy at your local auto parts store are a waste of money...

I had half a bottle of Forté Diesel Fuel Conditioner directly in the fuel filter and the rest of the bottle in about 8 liters of diesel, used 4 of it and the engine is more stable now than what it was before, so looks like at least that one works.

The diesel fuel conditioner cleans the injectors. I'm planning on taking my air manifold and egr apart for cleaning, then I'm gonna use Forté Gas Treatment to clean the valves and rest of the engine.

Note: this is for a DIESEL engine. For gas engines use Gas Fuel Conditioner...

seafoam

techron or the mb dealer stuff all work great if used yearly and a proper fuel filter is installed per the interval in the service schedule.
Dealer coupon for $140 just leaves you short the $140 and gives them the potential of loading on more suggestions while you are in their lair.
like the guy with the perfectly good maf that they convinced it was getting old
(mind you no codes,no issues)and they tossed one in for him to the tune of
800 bucks,he took them at their word and it was a year later that he became a forum member and learned he had been fleeced.

Seafoam

in the 1/2 tank procedure. It is sold at autozone and napa places like that. The mb stuff is at the dealer for lots more money.Seafoam is a brand and about 6-7 bucks. No need to do the radical procedure of sucking it in via a vacuum line, just put it in the near empty tank and fill half way and drive.
Also on the can it says it can also be added to the oil, don't do this unless you are going to change your oil in a day or two after adding it to the crank case.
In that case it will help clean up the oil passages before an oil change but is not needed as an additive for the proper 0w40 mobil 1 mb spec syn oil and fleece filter.

I never

do the procedure into the vac line it is not needed and that is the one that smokes like crazy.
Once a year into the gas tank is all I do and no smoke issues it just does its thing.

Good...it would be weird if it smoked like heck driving around in our w210..

Ok for other older cars maybe but not for a benz.
I read Seafoam website and it appears that the product is almost multi-purpose...you can use it in the fuel system, oil system, etc...
Crazy stuff....
