As usual the nipple I found was the correct one I'm just a girl who didn't have the grip strength to get adaptor to attach and release the R-134...Added just a little of the special R-134 with lubricant all is well wish I had tried about a month earlier.....need best price on Power steering pump now?

I have a multitude of issues with my AC; here are a couple of tips.

CHANGE YOUR FILTER! A clogged filter can cause many issues because the AC computer is not getting proper readings from the components.

A hissing sound can be vacuum element issue. On my car, I have 5 or 6 elements. A bad element can cause issues with your vent. How to check these elements requires a mighty vac tool and going under your dash.

Of course check your freon and check for leaks.

Strange a/c problem with my 2002 E430

Hello,
I just purchased the vehicle in the title line, and noticed yesterday that the a/c is blowing warm air out of the outer left vent and left middle vent. The right side vents are icy cold. After running the car for maybe 20 minutes or so, the left vents blow barely "cool" air, but nothing like the right vents. Both vents are blowing the same amount of air volume.
Any ideas what the heck could cause this?????????????????

There are vacuum elements in your AC system. If any of them fail, you will get the kind of issues you have. This requires troubleshooting the vacuum elements with a special tool ($40) which test if your vacuum elements can hold a vacuum. I don't know how passionate you are about fixing things, but that is where I would start.

AC on ML500

I have a MB ML 500 model 2006 and having problem with the Air condition system, MB workshop has just installed newest software four times on the control panel and it still doesn’t work. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Now they want to change the compressor but the A/C working satisfactory up to the point where the fan inside start to regulate down in speed just before the cabin temperature reach the setting and then is stop, but it sometimes start again if I make it as low as possible i.e. 160C.<o:p></o:p>

I have 1997 E230. The climate control is giving me problem.

When i turn on the ac, sometimes it gives cold air and sometimes warm air regardless of whether the car is running or standing still.

I checked the refrigerant code 07. it ranges from 05 to 16.
No error codes.
The compressor seems to be engaging.

I went to ac shop who said the refrigerant is at half level at 70 pounds.

What can be the problem?

I visited an independant dealer who says the compressor is faulty and it engages and disengages on its own. The compressor will need to be replaced.

Directly under the passenger glove box, you'll see a plastic cover.

A mechanic buddy of mine said it was toast.. The compressor was changed right before I took the car. the ac will work sometimes but not all the time.
We put a set of gauges on the a/c system and that is when he said he felt strongly that the expansion valve was stuck/dirty need a new one.

Well i DID look thru all the stickys first, as i do everytime i look for assistance on an issue. I didnt see anything to do with Compressor not engaging, so that is why i posted asking Frank ..as it sounded he had similar issue. I will look at Running Test notes ..but i dont have an ECU Computer or any MB specific test equipment. Sorry to "bother" you with my questions

1999 E55 AC problem

Old thread with a lot of useful info that I followed and still having a problem. I replaced my blower motor and regulator 6 months ago or so and the air ran OK for awhile. Now the blower doesn;t come on at all. I ran the codes and this is what I got:

B 1 234
B 1 416
B 1 459

1-80
2-82
3- 127
4- 127
5- 121
6- 179
7- 04
8- 94

After running the codes I added 1 can of 234. I was thinking I had a leak but the it went from 04 to 12 and stayed there over night so I added more 234. Its at 14 now and still not working. I cleared the codes prior to adding the 234 and system is still not working so I am at loss . Will old Charcoal cabin filters cause the system to shut down? And what is the B 1 459 fault code I am getting???

Thanks!

Haven't really thrown any money at the problem other than 2 cans of 234.

Here are my updated numbers.

1- 109
2- 69
3- 94
4- 94
5- 87
6- 145
7- 14
8- 129

Also, I 416, is that something I can fix myself?

Thanks

Quick questions...

1999 E320, EC light is on and won't turn off. Sensor readings and error codes point to bad evap temp sensor and no Freon, confirmed by local garage. Local garage wants a fortune for evap temp sensor so I'm doing that myself. They also reported they were unable to turn the compressor by hand and concluded I need a new one - again for a small fortune (i.e., they're asking almost twice for the part alone what I can get it for at an auto parts store).

So my quick questions are 1) Without Freon in the system can they tell it's a bad compressor just by trying to turn it by hand? 2) What's a fair price to pay for a new compressor, accumulator, and Freon charge? 3) What's the standard hours for compressor/accumulator replacement?

A gaggle of MB's
The China Evap sensor is cheap - with shipping $14-$18:

http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pn....bbkaAu7R8P8HAQ

Parts wise - Compressor, Drier, possibly Expansion valve, Oil, O-Rings - you can buy a "kit" package from eBay or Amazon:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-A-C-COMP...VXDT7T&vxp=mtr

Note - the drier design has been updated - and in addition to the parts above you MUST have a new drier hose:

http://www.autohausaz.com/pn/2108304615

All this is very straight forward for any competent auto air con shop - actual time 2-3 shop hours - many will decide not to bother with the expansion valve unless after they bought everything back it's not cooling well.
