AC Problems
driver side blows hot air and pass. Cold, when both in LOW temp.
when i turn it on and off i hear loud hissing sound from center vents
Helps please
CHANGE YOUR FILTER! A clogged filter can cause many issues because the AC computer is not getting proper readings from the components.
A hissing sound can be vacuum element issue. On my car, I have 5 or 6 elements. A bad element can cause issues with your vent. How to check these elements requires a mighty vac tool and going under your dash.
Of course check your freon and check for leaks.
I just purchased the vehicle in the title line, and noticed yesterday that the a/c is blowing warm air out of the outer left vent and left middle vent. The right side vents are icy cold. After running the car for maybe 20 minutes or so, the left vents blow barely "cool" air, but nothing like the right vents. Both vents are blowing the same amount of air volume.
Any ideas what the heck could cause this?????????????????

Now they want to change the compressor but the A/C working satisfactory up to the point where the fan inside start to regulate down in speed just before the cabin temperature reach the setting and then is stop, but it sometimes start again if I make it as low as possible i.e. 160C.<o:p></o:p>

I would appreciate any help with reading the error codes...
When i turn on the ac, sometimes it gives cold air and sometimes warm air regardless of whether the car is running or standing still.
I checked the refrigerant code 07. it ranges from 05 to 16.
No error codes.
The compressor seems to be engaging.
I went to ac shop who said the refrigerant is at half level at 70 pounds.
What can be the problem?

We put a set of gauges on the a/c system and that is when he said he felt strongly that the expansion valve was stuck/dirty need a new one.

After running the codes I added 1 can of 234. I was thinking I had a leak but the it went from 04 to 12 and stayed there over night so I added more 234. Its at 14 now and still not working. I cleared the codes prior to adding the 234 and system is still not working so I am at loss . Will old Charcoal cabin filters cause the system to shut down? And what is the B 1 459 fault code I am getting???
Thanks!

Also, I 416, is that something I can fix myself?
Thanks
So my quick questions are 1) Without Freon in the system can they tell it's a bad compressor just by trying to turn it by hand? 2) What's a fair price to pay for a new compressor, accumulator, and Freon charge? 3) What's the standard hours for compressor/accumulator replacement?

Parts wise - Compressor, Drier, possibly Expansion valve, Oil, O-Rings - you can buy a "kit" package from eBay or Amazon:

Note - the drier design has been updated - and in addition to the parts above you MUST have a new drier hose:

All this is very straight forward for any competent auto air con shop - actual time 2-3 shop hours - many will decide not to bother with the expansion valve unless after they bought everything back it's not cooling well.
