AC Problems
While I was driving and while it was NOT blowing cold, I put my AC in diagnostic mode, and #7 had 'CLO'. What does that mean? Once the AC kicked in I had numbers like 20 degree symbol and 3.

In the mornings, when the AC is not blowing cold, #5 is almost room temp. around 71 and #7 is CLO.
Also, should I do the receiver/dryer while I'm at it?
You could be full up and not know it.Variable demand compressor systems, fill pressures can be tricky to verify with snop on fill.
Post them when you got them.

I assume that all the r134a is gone with a big leak like that,so no problems in having to capture the r134a.Replace the condenser and the drier, then go to an a/c shop have them flush and pull a vacuum on the system and refill it with the correct amount of r134a and oil(the weight and oil are listed on the top cover of the ecu module passenger side in the engine compartment.
go to benzworld.org w210 section I don't remember a diy but post a shout out for Matt L ,he has done the diy most recently and it has been a bit of time since I had to do a w210 so his memory will be fresher as to tool and nut fittings.alldatadiy.com has most of the factory wis so a subscription to it or a member with a current one can tell you if it contains the procedure.
hope this helps

The refrigerant is probably marginally low at this point which is causing the compressor to cycle off. A dealer could troubleshoot. Not cheap though.
Just adding refrigerant and not correcting a leak, will only last a few weeks or months.
Then try to develop a habit to not use the AC the last 5 minutes of the day driving the car (still use the blower).
The main cause is moisture at the evaporator so the bacteria can thrive. Once you keep it dry then they cannot live (like talking water out of a fish tank
).Many manufactures (Ford, GM) have electronic solutions for this problem by programing to run the fan after the engine is shutdown.
However, MB is engineered like no other so we have to sacrifice not using the AC for the last a few minutes of the day.

.
The smeel is mold and mildew, the solution is written, why don't you perform it?
The dealer is going to have a field day with you,Buddy

I wish you well and the same for your soon to be much much much lighter wallet.
