Flashing gas light and CEL - Check engine electronics - Code P0455
Last time I saw this issue it was the ingintion coil but there were additional codes
Can someone help me translate this code ? I think it is a fuel leak issue
I tried first putting on a new gas cap but the code came back
I am in florida and we have had massive rain issues
I don't know if this is having an effect on the engine - the car is not garaged

A
line has come loose or frayed,or your charcoal canister is disconnected,or someplace there is a large leak in the emissions system.Did you install a new cap and gasket purchased at the Mercedes dealer?Do not buy gas caps from a local auto store for the w210.
If a good cap does not fix the issue, you will need to inspect all of the above.lines, fittings, canister, fuel line fittings to the fuel pump, lines to the purge valve, etc.
if a new mb cap does not cure it,and you can't locate it by inspection, then get out the smoke machine

ohlord provided the cure a while ago ...
I'm almost positive it's the purge valve. Very easy and economical solution. I had the same situation for about two years and I kept replacing gas caps and resetting codes until ohlord came to the rescue:

Purge valve
cleaning.Locate purge valve on drivers side inner wheel well in front of the brake master ,little black can shaped object with some line and wires, labeled MOT.Pull off the vacuum hoses gently and spray some crc brand maf cleaner into each hose and into the mot inlets themselves.Wait about 10-15 minutes to air out and evaporate and push the hoses back on again.Start the car.clear the code if you have a scanner. You can test the purge valve at any time by just pulling off the rear vac line going into it and you should hear it tapping away like a little drummer. This lets you know it is working.Because it is only on when tested at start up and when fuel fumes build up and need to be purged, hence the name

hello, I'm a new slk230 owner, flashing fuel light crazy, check all hose, engine compartment and rear fuel area, finally found the o-ring twisted int he intercooler tube next to the intake hot wire. drove 100 mile there and 100 miles back the light came back on with a 0455 code when I pulled back in drive way and sat there idling for about 30 seconds beginning to clebrated but the light turned on. I cleared the code and went to bed. the 200 mile trip is the longest the fuel light stayed out and no check engine light
