Right rear window won't come back up - 99 E320
I lowered the right rear window over the weekend and now it won't go back up. It sounds like a window regulator problem. I looked through the procedure to replace the window regulator and I would like to do it myself. The procedure I see says to start with the window in the up position. Mine is stuck down - how do I raise the window again? Also, is this the right part?

Any other helpful hints greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks for the replies.
ohlord, the link I have in my post has the the regulator for $41 while the one at autohausez is $75. Is there a difference? Should I stick to the cheaper one or go with the more expensive one.
Also, I don't own and have never used a rivet gun. What type (brand/size) should I get? I am guessing rivets come in different sizes. What size rivets should I get? Or should I get the OEM ones from the dealer?
Thanks everyone for putting up with all the questions. It's just that I am a little nervous tackling this.

I bought my rivet gun at Home Depot, and there were only two sizes of rivets. The smaller size looked about right, and it was. If I can find the box in my garage, I'll post the details here.
The hardest part of the job is drilling out the OEM steel rivets with a cordless 18V drill. The replacement rivets can be aluminum, which is easy to work with.
Print out the DIY pictures mentioned above and have them with you.

Thanks all for all the suggestions. I found a place in Joliet, IL that will do the regulator replacement for $45. I bought the part from www.stopshopanddrive.com. The regulator arrived quickly and was very reasonably priced ($41 + $7s/h). Drove it over to the shop sat. morning and they replaced it in half an hour. Window works perfectly now.

Where can I find this post and pics? Just bought my car. My right window is up but wont go down. Haven't really looked at it yet but I suspect it's broken and it has been rigged somehow to stay up. Any help would be appreciated.

Rivet Size
You need to use 3/16" short or medium rivets. Steel ones will be stronger but harder to compress with some of the smaller rivet guns. I did mine with aluminum rivets because I already had them. A few of the clips on my door panel broke so when I get around to replacing them I might swap out the rivets for steel ones.
