Advice on Selling my 01 E430 Sport
Hi All,
I am planning to sell my 01 E430 Black/Charcoal with 84K miles. I bought it CPO back in Oct 2004 and it had 26K miles, I'm the second owner. These are teh mods I have on the car:
1. Kleemann shocks/springs
2. Perforated Steering Wheel
3. Wood Shift Knob
4. TSW Bremmas 18*8 front, 18*9 Rear with additional full size 18*8 spare.
5. Alpine Deck with Ipod Connection in arm rest.
6. Sprint Booster
7. Disc Italia Drilled Rotors
The car is in excellent condition apart from a few scratches and the following minor issues:
1. Crack on front windshield.
2. Pixel issue on temp and time.
3. Crack on front grille.
I also have these extra items that I will include in the sale:
1. Original MB stereo, missing two buttons
2. MB CD Changer
3. MB perfect fit sunshade
4. Original MB Steering wheel charcoal.
5. Cabin filter and wiper blade.
6. Some extra bulbs.
7. Extra set of MB original floor mats charcoal
I have always serviced the car at the dealer and had all my work done there as well under warranty.
Please see my pics and let me know how much I should sell the car for.
Thanks in advance.

Steam clean that engine bay. It looks sad. You may want to change the spare to a new one and clean the rim. Make the whole car look as clean as you keep the inside and the paint.

MB’s
That is one attractive car. My last Mercedes I sold was my 1985 300SD Turbo with 170,00 miles. I cleaned it up and detailed it to perfection. I armoralled the interior, kept all the records and everything worked(Except the AC). The guy who purchased it off of me back in 2003 gave me $5,000 cash and he was impressed with how clean it was. As far as how much to sell her for? I am not sure. Try the KBB sites. But keep in mind that it is a poor economy and its not likely the E430 will sell right out of the gate.

My mechanic said anything clean under the 10k price point is quite in demand. I could have 4 quality buyers for my car by the end of the week. These are people who see the value and trust the source.
Then again, I'm talking about a '98 with 120k miles. Yours is too different to guess a value offhand.

your insurance might even pay for front windshield replacement for free, depending on yourp policy. i have AAA, and it was free to use generic, or $100 if OEM. as for price, it's worth what a buyer's willing to pay...just do your best to clean, and the maximize the exposure.

Try Craigslist
Especially if you are in Austin, but Houston and Metroplex will also have activity on their respective craigslist sites.....it's free! Or was, last time I used it........You can also check comparables using their search engine.

2001 E430, Obsidian Black w. Ash/Orion Grey, 195,000 mi.
Given that you have service records, you should get close to that if you fix the windshield and there's no other issues with the car. I paid $8750 for mine six months ago but it had 100K and isn't a sport model. Otherwise it was similar in that I bought from the second owner who bought it as a CPO at the Mercedes Dealer. These cars priced over $10K in the Bay Area tend to stay on Craigslist for a while.

why don't you look up the value on edmunds.com? there is a True Market Value button somewhere, then you input your info.
I find edmunds is a little more realistic than kellybluebook.
At any rate, I always thought my '01 now w. 118k miles would be worth under $10k... and I confirmed that last week... about $8,500. I've got AMG 17" wheels, Eibach springs, Koni shocks, wood knob, Remus exhaust, etc. etc.
But I'm keeping mine at this point and I think I'm going to make a run at 200k miles. I drive 15k miles per year.

I just finished cleaning the engine myself (thanks ohlord for your suggestions), it looks almost new, I learned something new in the process. I am planning to replace the windshield next and fix the pixel issue. I switched my insurance to "collision only" last year as I hadn't driven the car in months, hence they are not covering the windshield.
