MAF ???
Hello,
It is time for me to get a new MAF for my 01 E430. I am looking at several options.
1. Get it thru the dealer, price I don't know.
2. Advance auto parts, $328.00 OEM replacement (I think the brand is Cardone)
3. Ebay, $181.00 incl shipping (BOSCH, New)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...Q5fAccessories
4. Ebay, $61.99 shipped (Don't know what the brand is but definitely not BOSCH)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AIR-M...Q5fAccessories
Any opinions on what I should get? Does the MB original brand works better?
Any advice is highly appreciated.
Thanks....

germanstardotnet has genuine bosch insert for $130, and they seem to work fine.
autohausazdotcom has the complete maf unit for $150. i would personally go with the complete maf (housing + insert) from autohausaz for $150.

Thanks for the quick reply. The code reader showed:
P2017 Self adaptation of mixture formation from bank1/2 of cylinder is at
P2086 max/min limit at idle speed
I cleaned the MAF with the MAF Cleaner (yes CRC). It ran good for 10 miles then it was back to where it was. Did the cleaning 2X and with the same results (goes crappy again after 10 miles).

Autohauz AZ @ 154.99, like ohlord says, with free shipping for orders over $50. I've been getting all of my parts from there (shocks, clips, misc parts, etc.) for a great price. Plus you'll know exactly what it is. Who knows what fleaBay offers...it's okay, but just know the associated risk. Good luck!
The link to the MAF is below:

maf
fuel trim codes p0170 and p0173 both banks affected.2017 would be an odd one.
Clear the code and see if it returns.

I'm on the same boat... in my case, its P410, P170 and P173. New MAF and same codes. I've even done a full tune-up. The car idles rough once in a while, and my gas mileage is crappy (at around 22 mpg). I've already ordered all 4 O2 sensors for $400. That goes in this weekend. The car is nearing 170K miles, fwiw.
BTW, you could also squeeze the milk out of your kudkud and make all other kinds of good stuff. Me, I just buy the can. It's easier. hahahah!!!

Problem not solved yet. I read in a different thread that changing the FUEL FILTER might solve the problem so that's what I'm doing. Eversince I bought the car, the fuel filter has not been replaced yet. I already got an OEM fuel filter. Good luck to me.

did you check for vaccum leaks? if fuel filter doesn't fix anything, try to find a good indie in your area and have him connect the car to sds machine to read the values, and also check for vaccum leaks.
by the way where did you buy the maf and how much its cost?

Does your code reader read real time data?, if so look at the oxygen sensor outputs.
If not get one that does i use the u581 from e bay (£70) with a 16pin new style adaptor to our older 38 pin socket, works a treat.
I will bet you have a lambda sensor that is knackered and is switching to slowly hence the codes.
U581 here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Diagnostic...3A1%7C294%3A50
Works on mine 01 E430 and wifes 01 W203 c320 plus numerous other cars so very useful tool
